Redlands (CA) (Images of America)

The Redlands that no longer exists from long ago.
Since discovering the "Images Of America" series is available as a Kindle download I've been occasionally buying books, like this one, of areas I used to live as I was growing up. Actually, this book is a physical copy I bought used through an Amazon seller and am very happy in that it was a much better cost as well as looking brand new for being used.I lived in Redlands area from the mid 1960s to the 1980s, I went to the old Kingsbury school for 3rd grade when we moved from Highland the summer before school started. It was closed and torn down (I remember it was for earthquake fears, but it took a while to knock it down as I was there watching it once!) after that one year I was there. Two more elementary schools, then Cope Jr High, then the high school before we moved to Yucaipa after 10th grade. I enjoyed seeing all the photos from the redlands I remembered from that timeframe, the downtown with Woolworths before the now failed mall took out much of it. I expect that most of these books are sold to people like me that have a history there themselves in whatever town the book is about. A good series, I'll buy more of them!

Great slice of local history
This book is full of historical photos from the city of Redlands. As someone who has lived in Redlands for several years, I found it fascinating to look at how much the town has changed in 100+ years people have lived here. If you are interested in local history, you will enjoy this book. It does not have a lot of text; it is mostly a pictorial history.
