A Lovable Series
Strike Witches: Maidens in the Sky follows the story of Miyafuji Yoshika, and how she comes to train with the Strike Witches. Following her training, she must make the decision to become a healer or a full-fledged witch of combat. As a series with humor, combat sequences, some sci-fi, and filled with fan service, Strike Witches has a broad appeal, and I would recommend it to anime and manga fans looking to try a new series.

if you are a slight fan of the anime then you will love this manga
A cute little manga, if you are a slight fan of the anime then you will love this manga. The story makes more sence than the anime, sadly that this is the last vol of the manga. There are other side stories that are coming out from Seven Seas.

Fanservice essentials
Panty shots? Check.Cute girls? Check.Unnecessary nudity? Check.Ridiculous premises with alternate history to wash away sour spot on your history? Check. This being all-female cast, it screams girl-girl romances and whatnot. Had it feature a male protagonist, you'd be staring right at Infinite Stratos (yet another blend fanservice series). This series does not have much of redeeming features or award winning qualities (artwork, story, etc). It exists to please fans who like it just because.

I love it!
I really enjoyed the strike witches anime and move and am very happy a 3rd season is coming out. When I saw they were going to release the mangas in English I knew I had to have them. The story is really good: showing the bonds of friendship and dreams. It also is pretty funny. The book came the day of release. The art was well done too. I am very happy I added this to my collection!

Finally, Britania and Lucchini! But the Second Volume Is a Disappointment
The second (and last) volume of “Strike Witches: Maidens of the Blue Skies,” the first manga series of the “Strike Witches” series, is disappointing in more than one way. The artwork is acceptable, but the story is weak and meandering, and what is the most disheartening is that so many characters – all adorable and fleshed-out in anime version – have so little to do in it.The place of the story has moved to a small island of Britania, the same location where the animated version is set. Miyafuji Yoshika, who was seen training in Fuso (Japan) in the first volume, is sent to the Britania military base, where we meet familiar faces of lovely “witches” including Mio Sakamoto, Perrine H. Clostermann and Francesca Lucchini.Unfortunately, the second volume (and the story arc) ends before any of these witches is given a chance to say something worth doing or saying. They fight those evil monsters “neuroi” only once (and the episode is not very exciting). There are some nice jokes including a couple of “preview” manga as a bonus, but the volume itself, especially its conclusion involving a misguided idea of “monkey mountain” (yes, that’s what you will see), is a huge disappointment.
