My search is over!
In my attempt to reduce plastic waste I have tried multiple shampoo bars. Some made my hair feel gummy and others have just had so-so results with my hair. My search is finally over! I absolutely love this shampoo. It's easy to reconstitute, smells amazing, lathers well and leaves my hair soft, shiny and manageable. My hair feels like it's in better condition after only two uses. I've ordered the conditioner concentrate as well and can't wait to try it out. Add to all this the fact that there is zero waste and NO plastic and I am one happy consumer. Thank you, Ethique!

Smells so good! Moisturizes well. Water ratio off?
The scent (flourish) is SO GOOD! It's not overpowering, but is noticeable. I put it on after my shower and sat down to write this review, and without sniffing it intentionally I can smell it faintly coming off me. It's very sweet and floral, but in a fun way not a grandma way.It soaked in my skin well and moisturized it. I have very dry skin, and my legs itch like crazy after a shower if I don't put lotion on right away, so I know it's moisturizing because my legs don't itch right now. I don't think it spread as far as normal lotion would have, but thanks to it being eco-friendly I don't mind using the extra amount it takes to cover me.I'm going to have to play with how to best mix it. I think the water ratio is off, (or else it meant volume oz instead of weight oz) started by boiling 10.6 oz (weight) of water. I started to poor it onto the lotion pieces, though, and got concerned that it was too much water. I probably only put half the water in. I mixed with a spoon, crushing the thick pieces against the side of the bowl till it was mostly smooth and only had tiny clumps left. Next time I'll use an electric mixer to see if it gets it smoother, but this worked okay. Once mixed, the pack came close to filling an 8 oz (weight) jar that used to hold Goldbond lotion. It's 4/14/21 today. I'll try to update on my next order with how long this one lasted me, if I find a good water ratio, and how best to mix it.

WORKS GREAT! Time consuming to make
I have been using their Guardian solid conditioner bar for a while and love it, but it does tend to break up into unusable little pieces once you get a little over halfway done with the bar. At $16 a bar that hurts my wallet! I figured this would be a less wasteful alternative, and it was cheaper. It does make my hair amazingly soft! The results are top notch. It also smells lovely, like fresh orange with a hint of lime. Results wise it's one of the best conditioners I have ever used. The downside is that it takes FOREVER to melt the solid chunks, even with boiling hot water. You have to stir and stir and stir for like 20 minutes straight. It's also too thick to really pour into a typical conditioner container, so I ended up putting mine into a screw top container and scoop it out. If it was easier to mix up I would give this item 5 stars. Maybe if it were a powder or smaller pieces? Either way a faster mixing process would make this item perfection.

Moisturizing and easy to make
I have extremely fine hair and I've realized that rubbing the ethique conditoner bars directly on my hair was just too rough on it. I purchased the concentrate, hoping that the liquid will be a more gentle plastic free option. I was worried when I first tried to mix it, as it didn't seem to be melting, and setting but don't be discouraged! It did melt down eventually and once it did completely set, it was conditioner consistency. It felt fantastic on my hair. I've only used this once so far, but it didn't appear to leave my hair greasy or heavy - just wonderfully conditioned. Thank you so much for making this product! I hope you'll have the newer powdered version available for the U.S. soon!

Im impressed
I mostly use the ethique conditioner bar, i have fine thin hair so it works well. I do like to have a liquid one on hand for those quick shower days or when my sister is in town. Her hair is thicker and the bar isnt enough. Moisturizes quite well. Much better option for thicker hair, for when the bar isnt enough. Hopefully she approves of this as i have. A little goes a long way. I actually like the subtle citrus smell, im very picky on scents. As far as value, im not sure. For me who wouldn't use it as much its great but for my sister maybe not so much. Tho environmental standpoint yeah the value is good. I was sceptical while making it but eventually the product does set up and thicken. Very easy to make and i already had a bottle so better for the environment. I do wish Amazon would stop sending them in plastic bubble mailers but i guess if i wanted to do better on that i should've just bought straight thru the company site.
