Good vs Evil: Treasure, Food, Tools, Weapons & More - All in this little set!
Sometimes, good things come in small packages. That's true with this Lego set. It's not so much about the size of the scene when it's set up. It's more about the details, which really make this "Pharaoh's Quest Scarab Attack" come alive. Of course, there is the scarab - with its movable legs. You can build him in odd ways - with his head upside down... or with only 4 legs. Beyond the scarab and the mini fig ... the little extras are cool, too. Even though we do not have one of the larger "Pharaoh's Quest" sets... the items that come in this box will easily integrate and enhance my son's Lego collection. Here are a few cool things that he excitedly pointed out: * The chicken leg and small spit of fire, plus a mug * The tools and weapons (all silver): Pick Axe, Repeater Carbine and Binoculars * The treasure box with golden crystals * The black hair on "Jake Raines" comes off... and the scythe-like horn on the scarab's head can go in its place. (My son got a laugh out of that one)This is not a big set, but for the price... you get a neat little accessory selection that can be added to ANY series. The scarab is intricate and yet easy to assemble. It's easy to include these pieces with other existing LEGO sets. My son has the beetle fighting its way through his Lego police station... with the cops hot on its trail. Also, if you are able to snag this set at a discounted price... with Amazon Free Super Saver Shipping ... all the better!

Little box with lots
The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter have great Lego spiders, but for a little less money, we got this little box with a very cool beetle plus mini figure. It was easy to build for the five year old. We have the Pharaoh's Quest Rise of the Sphinx, so we could use these together. The box is small and price is low, so it would make a good stocking stuffer but it would be too small for a birthday present.

LEGOS KEEP GRANDKIDS AMUSED FOR HOURS
My grandson is 6 and gifted, so it's important that his brain is challenged constantly. Legos for 8-13 year olds are the best toys ever invented. We always order from Amazon for his Birthday, Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. There is no better gift to keep your little ones happy.

It's a little hard
My son loves lego, and he loves trying to get the pieces, but he's 5 and the pieces are so tiny, that he has a hard time getting them to fit...but he still tries, and it's cute to see Lego moving from generation to generation.

A hit for Christmas!
purchased this to help them complete their Pharaoh's Quest series. They loved it. A nice add - appropriately priced. And structurally sound enough in design that they can actually play with it.

Glad to get it
My son loves Pharoah's quest so we were glad to be able to complete his set with this one. I think they must be disconntinuing the series since they are hard to find or on clearance. It's a nice little set and he enjoyed putting it together (took no time for the nine-year-old) and then playing with it along with the other sets in the series. Nice little set that doesn't break the bank. Arrived quickly!

AWESOME!
Okay, so I'm a nerd! I like ancient Egypt and a lot of the cool stuff that comes with it, including the scarabs. I picked this set because of the scarab and I was NOT disappointed! I still have fun playing with the bug

A great little Pharaoh's Quest mini-set
My daughter has the top of the range Pharaoh's Quest 'Scorpion Pyramid', which is without doubt the best playset in this excellent Egyptian Mummy themed Lego series (hardly surprising as it is by far the most expensive). However for under a fiver this Scarab Attack micro-playset is superb value for money, and is ideal as a pocket money purchase or for adding in with a larger Pharaoh's Lego playset present as it's so cheap. The Amazon listing pictures show all the pieces supplied: a character (Jack Raines), a neat little cook set/campfire, pickaxe/binoculars/rifle, gold crystal, toolbox, and the giant Scarab Beetle (actually only 1" high x 2.5" long, but it's giant next to the Lego archaeologist). This is one of the few Lego sets where you could get two or perhaps three to add to the Pharaohs Quest play value [similar to Lego Star War's drone and clone sets]. Nominally the Scarab beetle is a guardian of the Pharaoh's tomb, but it's real allegiance is strictly down to the kids imagination. As others have said here, these new Pharaoh's Quest Lego playsets are a winner, with a theme suitable for kids right into their teenage years. Sadly, although still about on-line, Lego have discontinued these Pharoahs Quest sets and they are no longer in the printed catalogue or in Lego's online shop - so buy now while the old stock is still about.

I'm sure it is a great set, but not worth £7
I'm sure it is a great set, but not worth £7.90. I see from other reviews that some people paid around a fiver - that would have been about right. It is *small*, the smallest box set Lego do. We expected it to be the next size up but it would have made a paltry Christmas present so we returned it.

Good value for money
This is a really nice little set - and cheap too. The scarab is well made and can be used in any play scenario featuring a monster / giant-bug attack. The mini-figure has a lot of accessories and looks the part of an explorer-adventurer. Because it was so cheap I bought two sets - and now my daughter has two giant scarabs to create havoc and panic in Legoville.

A good buy!
This was a perfect size for popping individual pieces into the pockets of an advent calendar. The boys are fans of the Mummy movies so they loved it
