A Nice Fitting Case
I bought a Gretsch g9220 resonator a month ago and needed a case for it. My big worry was matching the g9220 size with the case size. I researched guitar cases for a couple of weeks on Amazon, at online music stores, in music stores, in magazine reviews, etc. Part of the criteria was to keep it around $100.00.I narrowed it down to three, and all were great cases. All my guitar cases have been black, and I'm not into flash for its own sake, but I did like this one due to its retro look. The thing I've learned about reviews of guitar/resonator cases is the inconsistency of info being put out. For all three cases, reviewers stated the case would fit a Gretsch 9220, WHILE other reviewers stated they would not fit it. ???WTH???I've owned a Guild D25 for more than 35 yrs, so I also began to use it - i.e., buying a new case for it - as a variable during the search. That helped delete some of the resonator case reviews I read and provided a better sense of whether a case would or should fit the 9220.Anyway, I ordered the Gator Jouneyman GW-JM and I kept my figures crossed about the fit.It was delivered 3 days ago and it's a very, very nice fit. It is a case designed to fit a number of different resonator guitars, so take that into account when looking for a case for your resonator. But, I will say that if you are looking for a case to fit your Gretsch g9220 resonator, I highly recommend this case. It holds the 9220 securely, and it fits the smaller 12 fret neck. I like this case, and will update further pro and cons in the future,The only weird thing about this, however, is that the price for the case was $82.00 when I bought it.March 2, 2021 - Update. This case is still going strong. No problems with it, keeps the resonator where it’s supposed to be, and I’ve nothing but praise for it. If the Gator Co needs a nifty little motto, I just want everyone to know I said it first, I think. Okay, here it is...”Get a Gator, you won’t go wrong.”

Great house and occasional out case
This case is very light and has very good foam padding all around. What I like about this case as opposed to others in this price range is that it is a snug fit with more that 1" of soft padding around the rims and padding to match the contour of the arched back. The other Canadian hardshell cases that I own have 1/2 inch of less spongy padding and a 1/2 inch of play so the mando can shift around inside the case. My instrument is a hybrid A-style which I built straight off an F-5 blueprint, minus the points and scroll (think Collings A) and it fits perfectly in this case. For what I need, storage in the house and trips out to play music with others, it is perfect. I'm not a regularly gigging musician however, and never just throw my mando case in the back of a van with a bunch of heavy sound equipment that could crush it anyway. What this case is not is bomb-proof super protection, that will easily cost you 3-6 times as much. The canvas covering is untreated, some varnish to impede picking up dirt would be perfect but for this price, I really can't complain

Solid
I just got the case and am pretty excited about it. The case seems larger to me than some very high end banjo cases but that might just be me. The fit for my Gold Tone MC-150 is almost perfect. Another reviewer mentioned a latch that eventually fell off and I could see that being a weak point on my case but we will see. The construction seems to be good for the price.Interior DimensionsBody Length: 15.00 "Body Height: 5.25 "Lower Bout Width: 14.00 "Middle Bout Width: 14.00 "Upper Bout Width: 14.00 "Overall Length: 41.00 "- See more at: http://www.gatorcases.com/p/16107-2098/gw-jm-banjo-xl#sthash.68DE8UN2.dpufAnother tip is to look at your banjo on the manufactures website and see if there is a recommended case, then compare the dimensions to this one. While this case has a raised section for arch top banjos, it comes with a removable pad that makes my flat top fit very nicely.

Good-looking Solid Quality Case
This is a beautiful case. Seemingly well made with quality materials. It fit my German-made Hofler well, albeit a little snug around the body. But to be fair, my resonator is 14” in diameter exactly and I read that it measured either 14” or 14.25” on the interior. I’m guessing it’s probably closer to 14.25”-14.5” without the thick padding — so probably right around 14” with it. But even so, it still fits in fine and if nothing else, will at least have less room to move around. I read someone’s review about the handle being slightly off center. I was surprised when it first arrived how much it was off, but with my resonator banjo inside, it’s weighted closer to center so carries like regular. Overall solid case, good quality, and sharp looks for a decent price. We’ll see how it holds up after a few months. With the Gator name, I’m pretty sure it will last.

Perfect in all aspects
I ordered this with a little bit of hesitation after reading about other cases that weren't large enough for some mandolins. This fit my A-Style Eastman perfectly and I'm sure that it would fit a similarly sized F-Style as well as there is room for the scroll and the point. I love the look of the burlap fabric - very clean appearance. The closures work well and hold the case tight. The only drawback I would mention is the lock. It seems like the cheap trunk lock that I used to pick with a paperclip as a kid. This isn't a concern for me as I don't foresee traveling with my mandolin often and certainly don't believe that a rogue airport employee is going to break into my case.EDIT: I tried to fit my Rogue A100 and it was too large for this case. That being said, cases are meant to be snug to protect the instrument from movement. It fits my Eastman perfectly...I don't really need a case for a $60 Rogue anyway.

Does the job
Got this for a reduced price and didn’t really know what to expect. It fits my 1937 Dobro 14 fret perfectly though. It’s a plywood fairly standard hard case covered in very pale polyester/ linen faux tweed type material. There are one or two quality control issues but nothing major. The retaining strap is twisted and some the finishing on the trim is a bit dubious. I’m glad l didn’t pay full price. Because it is so bright looking l’ve applied some clear satin furniture laquer which not only makes it a a bit waterproof but makes it look aged in keeping with my 84 years old guitar. All in all, not the most practical purchase but it definitely looks the part now.

Not the finest resonator guitar case on the market
Not the finest resonator guitar case on the market, but more than adequate, giving good protection to the instrument. And really good value. Use some protective spray, as recommended by the manufacturer, if you are doing much travelling with it - the cloth covering is attractive enough, but a very light colour.
