A book with the right balance between drawings and writing, for learning English.
Of course I already knew Lewis Carroll’s “Alice in Wonderland” story, probably heard it since I was a small child, there 65 years ago. Then when a month ago, my wife, and I, had holiday visit from part of the family living there 600 km far east away from us, and one of them, a teenager at 13 years, asking about learning more English. I started speculating in how to help her, and when I saw how little English reading she had had in school, I found that a draw story would be fine, before starting on novels.I found that “Alice in Wonderland”, as a draw story, might be good. Then I used a couple of hours, during a couple of days, to search in Amazon. I was difficult to get much looking inside the enormous man editions of “Alice in Wonderland”, and after choosing and ordering this one, I was waiting and speculating if I had chosen the right book. Now, after having received and read the book, I must say that I chose the right draw story, that is with good drawing, drawings on each of the sides telling the story, much of color, and the right amount of writing.

it's okey
I don't like this book because I don't like how they talk in the book it's just different. And I still don't get what's the theme of this book.

Fast-paced and fun
I enjoyed this version of Alice in Wonderland. Translated into graphic novel form, the undeniably trippy, dream-like nature of the original book comes through much, much stronger in this version. Alice races through one utterly bizarre scene after another, lending a particularly surreal feeling to this reinterpretation of the classic. As fast as she falls down the rabbit hole, grows and shrinks and meets the evil Red Queen and Chesire Cat, there are other equally odd occurrences taken from the original novel that I had forgotten about, such as the abandoned baby that inexplicably turns into a pig. While the adaptation remains very true to the original, the speeded-up narrative and largely visual presentation definitely up the ante, turning what is already a very strange and dream-like book into something altogether hallucinogenic. The book is appended with some background information on the inspiration for several of the characters - for example, cheese-makers of Chesire County, England apparently were famous for using cat-shaped molds, and of course, the tradition of Mad Hatters comes from the true story of many Victorian-era hatters who suffered from lead poisoning and dementia in their line of work.I hesitate to recommend such an abbreviated version of the classic to young readers who may not return to the longer, original work if they feel that they've read it already, but at this point, Alice in Wonderland is such a cultural touchstone, you can't go wrong with this easily-accessible version.

This was interesting to read
I read this book and I liked it very much. The Alice in this story was pretty and I wonder what that cloak she has around her neck and shoulders is called. If that kind of clothing exist, it might make a good present for other girls here today.

Scary art, 7 year old would’ve read it.
Scary art, my 7 year old loves graphic novels but the art is too creepy and turned her off. Bummed.
