The Cat on the Mat Is Flat (King of Scars Duology, 17)

I ordered this book for my daughter who is in 3rd grade. She is a struggling reader and it is hard to find books that she can read easily that actually hold her interest. She is also starting to get self-concious about how a book "looks" - wants it to be a "chapter book" but can't always read them. She loved this book and read it straight through the first night she got it. It took her about 40 minutes, which is twice as long as she normally reads, and she didn't stop every 5 minutes to ask me how much longer she had to read for! She told me she wants to read it again which is also something I have a hard time getting her to do and even asked me to order more of the series. Thank you Andy Griffiths!

Loved this book, was great practice for my granddaughter's reading!

We love this book. It's hard to find interesting reading for a dyslexic 12 year old. Books at his reading level are too babyish. This is fantastic! Right at his level, so he can read alone, and so hilarious! I love hearing him giggle as he reads! Finally something he can get excited about and not moan and complain about reading!

I am a reading tutor for elementary grades, mostly. My students love this book because of its silliness. I love it because it uses the same rhyming sounds for the whole chapter. Very useful tool for encouraging reading.

100 times better that See Spot Run and that other stuff! This content is funny and some of the stories even have morals and stuff. Great book!

This is the first book my daughter read alone! She has struggled with dyslexia and low confidence due to reading delays. This "big kid" book boosted her confidence so much! She couldn't put it down and carried it with her everywhere. I also ordered The Big Fat Cow That Goes Kapow. She has read them both in two days! This is huge! i enjoyed reading it to my kids and my kids also love reading it themselves (age 5, 6). It's fun, not any less than Dr Seuss, and the illustrations were fun too (so what if not in color). i personally like the cat on the mat better than the big fat cow... the stories are longer and rhymes more entertaining.
