O'NEILL Men's 19 Heather Drifter Hybrid Shorts - Water Resistant Mens Shorts with Quick Dry Stretch Fabric and Pockets

During my third beach outing with these shorts I was shocked to discover that my front zipper had completely failed exposing myself to the world. In addition, the plastic bits at the ends of the zippers (I assume they’re placed there to make it easier to grip and operate the zipper) lasted an even shorter amount of time than the zippers themselves!! Why not just make the whole zipper out of metal instead of adding these cheap plastic extensions?? It really saddens me that I can no longer trust a brand that, in the past, I believed to have decent quality products. Like everything else these days O’Neill has turned to taking short cuts to save a buck here and there over producing quality products that last for the consumer.

I bought these shorts at the same time as four other pairs of hybrid shorts to try and determine which kind I liked best. These were the winners.Good:- The length was just above the knee and leg opening was wide enough that the shorts never felt restrictive- Uses a ribbon to hold the button in place rather than thread (this will keep the button on hopefully forever)- Zipper front pockets so that I can be active and carry my phone without having to worry about it falling out- Fit my backside well and followed the contour of my legs and butt nicely without being form-fittingly tight- Very lightweight- Nice amount of stretch- Material that feels soft yet sturdyMeh:- The zippers go up instead of down, which mostly just feels backwards but probably serves a purpose that I don't understand- The stretchy fabric bunches up just below the belt loops on both sides of the front

I picked these shorts up for my tall, skinny son, he is 6’6 and 165 soaking wet. We ordered them in the 30” waist and they fit him like a glove. He says that the length is just what he wanted too, they are a little above the knee on him. The shorts look really nice too and hold up well to washing. (Cold wash, low heat dry, no dryer sheets.) These shorts are not cheap (we liked them so well we picked up another pair) but they are worth the investment if you want a nice pair of well made shorts that hold up.Highly recommended

I love these shorts. When I go on vacation I basically wear them everywhere. They look good enough to wear to dinner and yet still have the functionality to go swimming. I love the zippered pockets because they are hidden and very useful. I might start buying these to just use as my summer shorts because they look that good. For reference I got a 2XL and I’m generally 40-42” waist. I’m 6’6” with a 34” inseam and have no issues with the length.

I would LOVE to give these board shorts 5 stars BUTT ;) the FABRIC on the backside is TOO THIN! The seam has split or the fabric worn through almost immediately with EVERY pair I’ve owned (3)! The fit is great. The stretch fabric nice and comfortable. Love the zipper pockets! BUTT the BUTTOCKS isn’t tough enough. O’Neill, PLEASE reinforce these so they can be worn as surf and turf shorts and handle the rigors of an active lifestyle!

I have been wearing O'neil for a few years now ever since I discovered their Hybrid shorts and I fell in love! They are so comfy and very lightweight and breathable for summer time! Love the drawstring cord for adjustable tightness too. I wear these for all day activities,hit a nice bike ride and then jump right into the pool to cool off! These shorts are top quality,cant go wrong.

The fit is wonderful. After I purchased the first pair, the "wearability" was so terrific that I immediately purchased 2 more pair. When will you make them in white, and pink :) I'm female & these are a GREAT FIT! Feels like I'm not wearing anything at all. Breathable, and light, with just the right amount of stretch. Length is perfect, just above the knee. I could do without the drawstring, however the zippered pockets are Awesome. I wish the black color was more of a true black, vs. grayish/black. Love them nonetheless.

Nice cut short and material. However the size is off. I purchased a 38" and it measures 40". So with water added its falling off. Ordered a 36 and worked out. ANNOYING.
