EPIC FAIL, won't hold up a standard old school 9.7" iPad. AVOID.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This will not hold up an iPad 9.7". It slowly falls from highest position to bottom or when it hits whatever is under it. It is much smaller than I expected also. There is a fair amount of assembly with hex screws and an allen wrench they shipped it with which works very poor at best. Tolerances on screws cause allen/hex wrench to not fit well leading to all kinds of problems. Never the less, once I got it together, swung it into place put the iPad in it and it fell down. I went to joint expecting to be able to tighten it I find another hex bold needing allen wrench to tighten. Any decent product would have something hand driven to tighten but alas these folks love this allen wrench driven process. So, maybe if I tighten it once we will be good ? Not a chance, this hex bolt is a tight as it is possible to tighten. There is no change. This thing can't be tightened at all. This thing is junk. Avoid at all costs for anything larger than a standard run of the mill phone. AVOID.

New Design Sucks
As it shows in the product photos and in the manual that it shipped with, there is supposed to be a screw to add more tension to the arm, so the arm can be lifted and moved around and stay in place when you let go. The design has been changed and now all they have is a hex screw in the joint, that can't hold up my 10" samsung tablet (I think this design it wouldn't even be possible to hold any kind of surface) When I contacted the company about the design change there was no response. So I'm here to tell you go with something like the PUREX Technology, even though that arm requires loosing and re tightening when you want to re position the tablet, at least it doesn't require you digging out a hex wrench and over tightening screws.

Not Strong Enough to hold up Surface Pro 4
The product was easy enough to put together, but the arm is not strong enough to hold up a Surface Pro 4 without sagging to the desk. I located the tightening screw on the joint and tightened it to the point I stripped the screw. Still sagging, but slightly slower now - 9 inches/minute instead of 10 inches/minute. Very disappointed.I can't return it because I've already thrown away the packaging (my fault for having untested faith in this product) so I've shoved a folded piece of paper in between the joint and that physically stops the joint from sagging, but that's a workaround that I should not have to do - not with a new product and not at this price point.

Beware of quick release button, otherwise great.
The arm mount is great. No issues moving my tablet while mounted. There's a ball socket that allows the display to rotate between landscape and portrait. I wish the ball itself was properly secured; the ball never comes loose from the arm but tends to rotate in a 360 degree fashion instead of having the ball remain still while the device uses the socket to rotate. The main reason I am giving this 3 stars is due to a hypersensitive release button that is designed to make quick separation of the tablet from mount easy. Unfortunately, if you brush this button the wrong way while rotating or reevaluating the tablet it can send your tablet falling to the floor or desk you have it over. This happens because when the button is pushed all tension is released and there's nothing keeping the tablet secured. Not so wonderful if all you want to do is change the orientation for viewing a video, typing, or reading an article. I am dealing with finding the best solution for the long term disabling of this button. It is not hard to disable if you have the right sized screw and a metal washer but I want a solution that can't be easily tempered with. As far as removing the tablet quickly, it is in no way difficult to just take the tablet out the same way you put it in; by pushing the base of the tablet against the tension grip.

It will NOT hold up a surface pro
The ball and cup design on the part that connects to the tablet seemed strong. The swivel part near the clamp end seemed strong. The poorly designed and executed allen screw adjustment in the middle ruins the entire thing. It does not tighten enough to hold up the Surface pro as the site advertised, nor will the screw be strong enough to keep from stripping out if you put any kind of effort into tightening it down. In other issues, the swivel base near the clamp only rotates 270 degrees, so you can't turn it directly behind the clamp. While easy to put together, there is a long l bracket that hangs down under the table. It gets in the way if you want to sit near the stand, makes it difficult to turn the knob tightening the stand to the table, and prevents you from being able to turn the allen wrench more than a half turn at a time when tightening the three screws holding the l bracket to the stand. The reach of the maximum extension of the stand is only about 15 inches.

update: it broke. no support
Installation:I used the desk-clamp method to attach this mount to my Ikea desk. It took no more than 5-10 minutes and was a very easy process.Adjustments:I was able to tilt, pivot, etc. the mount to the right place fairly easily.Issues:Despite tightening the height adjustment to account for heavier devices, this mount starts to sag and falls after 2-3 days when holding up a Surface Pro 4. The item description clearly advertises the Surface Pro 4 as a compatible device. I think lighter weight devices such as a Surface 3 or iPad Air should work fine.Edit: Changed to 5 stars. I purchased a second one for another Surface Pro 4 I had. It turns out the arm is redesigned with the tightening screw bracket on the right side rather than the bottom. It is much stronger and holds the device up perfectly!Edit: I have to update again: The screw that tightens the bracket to adjust height strips very easily. After tightening it for the first time I was unable to further tighten or loosen it. I emailed CTA support and called them to simply get a replacement screw. They were unresponsive after a week of trying to reach them. I choose to end up returning the whole item as a result. Disappointed! :(

Muy buena calidad y muy fácil de usar. Excelente compra!!!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. Saludos

CTA is dumping the old model and I got a bunch of them. Arm cannot support tablets - I got 3 :(:(:(
CTA has a new model as the picture depicts on Amazon and CTA but there is an old model that many people have pointed out.I received the old model and not the one depicted in the picture, unfortunately I now have 3 of these. Many reviewers have pointed out that the arm and the tension with the mini aluminum bolt is weak, that is true and what makes it worse is the combination of using Teflon tapered washers that makes the arm easily fall down. I got it on same day shipping and that was nice. The maximum arm reach is 18", parts are solid quality.

The arm may not be long enough for all uses.
The reach from the clamp to mid screen is about 15” or 38 cm. Works good for my application. I had an issue with squeaking when i swung the arm, after 2.5 months use. I dissembled the base & lubricated all the contact parts with Jigaloo (a silicone spray) & it swings with even better ease than new. Be careful where the parts go when you disassemble. I mixed up the screws & it took me 3 tries to get it right (uses same size torx bit but different shaped heads & lengths) It is now 11 months later. The knob at the back no longer holds the Ipad tight & it wants to sag to an unusable angle. I wired it up in the portrait position, so can no longer switched to picture position. Still functional but not versatile

Droopy. Needs to be stronger
For the money, it’s fairly robust, unfortunately not where it needs to be.The articulating arm just isn’t strong enough. It ‘droops’ very quickly, even when supporting something lightweight (iPad mini). And while the clamp At the end of the arm will grasp a larger tablet, the arm itself will definitely not support any larger tablets at all (I.e. a Microsoft Surface). The problem is the tightening mechanisms for the ‘joints’ in the articulating arm cannot be tightened firmly enough. Probably needs to be twice as sturdy to be effective for the purpose that it was intended for. I’d be fine paying twice as much for it too, if it were twice as strong.

Might be good if you have 3 hands.
I need to be able to mount and unmount my iPad 7 several times a day.I’d hoped this arm would be suitable due to its Quick Release. It doesn’t have a quick release as it’s usually defined. The mounting clamp has a button that locks one of the two spring loaded grips...when it works. It usually didn’t.Thus because of the large size of the iPad 7, the level of spring tension in the mount, and the lack of a true quick release, mounting or removing it from the mount takes a fair bit of effort and ideally 3 hands. Sadly I only have 2 hands. If you intend to leave your device mounted permanently this might be suitable. But beware: The plastic components are cheap poly plastic and of the lowest quality of the 3 arms I’ve tried so far.
