The Bremen-town Musicians (Easy-To-Read Folktales)

It is a classical story of four animals that travel to the town of Bremen with the hope of becoming a musician. I remember my mom reading me this story when I was 5 or 6. Somehow I saw it in amazon the other day and decided to buy for my two children (3.5 years old and 1.5 years old). The story is as enjoyable as ever and the book is designed in such a child friendly way.Younger children like mine, can enjoy both being read and shuffling the pages themselves. It is light weight and has wide pages almost fully covered with pictures. The script is kept at minimum and the pictures are well made so that even my younger one can distinguish the animals and the items in it.For the price ($3.26) it offers a good fun for your kid.

Classic book. I've been looking for this version of the Bremen-town Musicians as this is the one I remember as a kid. Other versions of the story by other author/illustrator combos do not compare to this version. Jack Kemp's pictures are endearing and make you laugh out loud. Glad to see his books making a slow comeback.

One of my favorite if not my absolute favorite book from my childhood. I am so thrilled they make it in a paperback. Took it to my daughter's class and not one child had heard the story. They loved it!

This was the book I used for years and misplaced it last year. I purchased other books but it just wasn't the same. I was in Bremen over the summer and there were statues everywhere! When I returned from Germany I found this version of the story and was glad to use it again.

Always like this animal story, regardless of which version it is. Our granddaughters were not familiar with it, so purchased this one for them.

The story is a retelling but the art work is beautiful.

It is ok, but I had searched for this book specifically illustrated by Hans Fischer because they are so special and did think because I had done that search, it would be the one with his illustrations. However, it wasn't. So a learning experience. Anyway, on the bright side, I can read it to my little niece and she won't know the difference.

Mi niña tiene tres años y parece asustarse en la parte donde los animalitos rompen una ventana y auyentan a unos ladrones.... los dibujos son llamativos, pero en si la historia no lo es tanto para mi gusto, aunque a mi hija le gusto escucharla se asusta cuando hay una pelea entre los animalitos y los ladrones, tal vez sea porque es una historia para niños mas grandes de hecho el libro dice que se recomienda para niños de 5 a 8 años.

My son loves this story and thia version is OK but for sure not the version from my childhood.

Das Buch war ein Geschenk für eine Dame, die aus Bremen, Indiana, stammt. Die hat sich riesig gefreut, auch über die Hachez Schokolade mit dem " Musikanten " Motiv, die ich mitgeschickt hatte.

It's not the version that I remembered as a child.
