BIG difference!
My OLD SHOES: I've been wearing out a pair of zx2s for several years. They have been my favorite sandal but with some drawbacks. The toe hold tightens, I'm assuming after the straps get wet and then dries. They are always tight, and while they can be readjusted, it's kind of a pain. Also, the heel cup, after long walks, would cause pain under my foot. But they were my most hardy, versatile, supportive pair of shoes so I lived with it.THESE SHOES: after the foot bed split on my old pair, and the lacing started looking ragged, I decided to check out these, in a wider width. Two things:1. width matters. The wider shoe fixed the tight heel cups.2. The wider straps on this style seem to eliminate the toe hold from feeling like it's going to sever your big toe. AND they are way easier to adjust. (Ok that's three things)I had no idea that an already great sandal can be even better. If you've got wide, wonky feet and you are looking for an awesome shoe, get these!

Size down if you're a half size...
I thought I'd post this for those who are in between sizes, since a lot of reviews tell people to size up. My regular shoe size is a 7.5 wide and I have wide feet with a normal width in the heel (think duck feet). I generally size up when half sizes are not available, so I ordered an 8 wide (sandal on the right). There was too much toe room and they felt generally ill-fitting and awkward. The back strap was too loose and couldn't be tightened without pulling the top strap too tight. I then ordered a 7 wide (sandal on the left) and they fit perfectly. They feel comfortable and not at all clunky on my feet like the 8 wide did. I'm still getting used to the footbed, as I've never worn Chaco's before (the footbed is much more substantial than the Teva's I'd been wearing). I'll come back and update once I've worn them more. I was able to first try on different styles of Chaco's in an outdoor store, but had to go online to find them in a wide width. The model without the toe strap was more comfortable to me, but the toe strap makes them feel secure on my feet. I also like the single strap vs the double strap model. It's way too difficult to get the double strap adjusted properly. Anyway, I'm keeping the 7 wide, so my advice is to try to size down if you're in between sizes, depending on how you like your shoes to fit.

Wish I loved these!
So, the footbed is extremely comfortable, supportive, and roomy. I could walk on these shoes all day. What is problematic is the way the straps function. They are adjustable from the toe loop all the way through the footbed to the clasp. While in theory this is a good thing, because it allows for all sorts of foot shapes, in reality as I walk, the straps start to shift, and they end up really tight around my big toe and loose behind my heel. Thus, I have to bend over or sit or squat to re-adjust them again ... like every 30 minutes or so of walking. This is problematic, for me at least. I hope they work better for you.

Great Sandal for hiking.
These sandals were delivered this morning so I put them on immediately hoping for the best. This is my 3rd pair of Chacos but a different design. The one solid woven strap is definitely a big improvement over the 3 strap. The arch is a bit higher which is great! Took them on a test walk of 3 miles then rode my mountain bike. I'm 75 and my feet are not one bit sore, tired or tell me to take the sandals off! Thanks Chaco for a great hiking sandal.

Very hard to keep fresh and clean
Positives - they look great, for perfectly, and I didn't no have any issues "breaking" them in as others did. They are very comfortable.Negatives - wow, these are hard to clean. Had I have known, I would have not brought the cross toe options. My feet are in good shape and generally do not smell, but wow, these shoes constantly need washing, literally after every time I wear them, and then I still cant get the musty smell out. I have put them through the washing machine numerous times. I have used hand wash basins, baking soda, and flossing the straps. It takes so much time to floss the straps after each wear, and then to let them dry, and then to have to resize them correctly each time is a major point of frustration.I would not purchase the cross toe option again.

I guess I live in these now
I cannot praise Chaco Z2 Cloud enough. I'm a recent convert from Birkenstocks, which still have a special place in my heart, but I can take these Chacos anywhere with water or dirt (hiking, gardening, walking, giving the dogs a bath) and still get the arch support I need for plantar fasciitis. I literally wear them from the moment I get out of bed until the moment I get back in. The straps took a minute to figure out, but if you follow the instructions and pull gently, you'll get them adjusted in no time, and they are quite comfortable. I got a lighter pattern (mint green background with navy pattern, gray footbed) and it has been pretty dirt-resistant considering the abuse I have already put them through. I was worried about getting a nasty black footprint in the footbed that would constantly need to be washed out, but that hasn't happened. It took less than a day to break in, and maybe another day to get used to the positioning of the unfamiliar webbing. I love these, wear them as much as humanly possible, and hope they last a long time (they seem like they will), and will be happy to spend the $$ for another pair when time time comes.

Absolutely love these!!
First time buying and owning a pair of Chaco sandals. I am very impressed! At first I freaked out because the straps around the toes were super tight and then I quickly realized everything is adjustable. In the box comes a “how-to” on adjusting the straps. The fit is very true to size. So if you have even a slightly wide foot, get the wide fit.My sister had highly recommended these for our upcoming Disney World trip and I’m so glad I went with her suggestion. The arch support is the best I’ve ever experienced. The cushion is amazing too. The only thing I’d like to change about it is a tiny bit more strap. I personally like the straps loose fitting and these don’t give me much to work with. But overall worth the 5 stars. I’m now obsessed with this brand.

Pictures are misleading
I bought the solid black in a UK size 6 from the Amazon Global Store. All of the pictures showed no toe loop and the product description didn't mention this either. I was disappointed as I was specifically looking for ones without the toe loop and thought that's what I'd purchased. I'm keeping them as the hassle of returning is too much. Don't trust the pictures! It's a shame as other than this, the product is good quality and arrived promptly. If you're looking for ones with a toe loop, you'd probably be very happy with them!
