UPIT Janggi Korean Chess Stones Xiangqi-Similar Playing Travel Strategy Board Game (Only Stones)

These Janggi pieces are made of a lightweight plastic. They are not heavy and hard like dominoes, more like the light semi-flexible plastic they make toy dinosaurs out of, if you know what I mean. The pieces are double sided, meaning they have the characters engraved and painted on both sides. There is no promotion of pieces in Janggi, so it's the same character on both sides. The pieces come in a plastic storage container which is nice to keep all the pieces together when you're not playing and easy to take along wherever you want. The only downside is that there is no playing board included, not even a cheap paper or plastic one like Xiangqi sets often come with. Since I don't have a Janggi board, I set the pieces up on one of my Xiangqi boards. It works fine. You just need to keep in mind that there is no river in Janggi, so just pretend the river isn't there if you do use a Xiangqi board. Overall, these are basic Janggi pieces which are perfectly playable and will do the job. Though, if you're more serious into Janggi, you may want to look for pieces made of a heavier, higher quality material.

Quality is so so considering the price.
