Set of three well made strainers. I gave one to my son and he likes it, too. The opposing "handle" is a good idea for resting the strainer.

I have a lot of strainers and colanders but I didn't have any smaller handheld ones. When going to strain olives or beans, I don't need a huge strainer that takes up most of my sink. Growing up, my mom had a nice handheld strainer that was sturdy, extremely fine mesh and was used all the time, she still has it and it's still working hard for them. I wanted something like that. Something that would be a good addition to my kitchen and last me a long, long time.These strainers by Diamond Kitchenware are exactly what I had in mind.The moment I took them out of the packaging I knew they were of higher quality. They are very sturdy!It comes in three different sizes: 3.5, 5.5 and 7.5. I like the small one for my loose tea leaves and strainer orange juice pulp, the middle one for sauces, smoothies and gravies and then the largest for beans, olives and chilies. I have also found that they are all handy for sifting flour. I have a sifter but hate using it, these work well and they are way more convenient.As stated in the name, the mesh is extremely fine! I have never owned ones that were this fine before, I was super impressed.They are easy to hold while strainer your food. With the non-slip coating, you lessen the rick of it slipping from your hand.It's made of anti-rust stainless steel. Each strainer has a bit of a rim on it so you can easily insert it on the rim of a bowl or cup for hands free strainer. That's what I usually do with my teas and coffee, I use the little one and set in in my mug.They are dishwasher safe. Always a plus in my book. I am not a fan of doing dishes (who is, right?) and am all for kitchen utensils that can be thrown in the dishwasher. Easy peasy!I give these strainers 5 stars because I do not see anything I do not like about them and they met my expectations. I have been searching for a strainer set like this and it is everything I hoped it would be. I love to cook and always need a strainer. The baskets are well constructed, the mesh is strong and not flimsy at all. There is a long handle on each as well as a nub on the opposite side that is ideal for setting over bowls and pots. The handles and nubs are coated in a silicone rubber, this helps keep the handles cool, prevent scratches and lend a comfortable grip.This set comes in 3 sizes. The small is perfect for sifting powdered sugar and cheeses to get rid of clumps. The medium size came in handy when straining marinades. I make my own from scratch and love to strain the solids out to make a sauce or gravy after the meat is removed. A quick pour into the medium strainer yields a smooth clear liquid free of any spices and solids. The large is shown in the pic; it was the perfect size to shock some cilantro in ice water. The basket then was simply lifted up to drain.The long handles are open and are ideal for hanging in a pantry so they do not bet dented.One you use these strainers you will wonder why you relied on a colander for so long.
