Exactly what I expected
These are great rings for the money. They were what I expected and arrived quickly.

How scope mounts should be made.
I understand the base/ring set up give more flexibility and allows for bulk manufacturing, but this is how scope mounts should be made (and how they were made 30 years ago) less connections to come loose and solid, plus sleek looking. And ironically, this set cost less than it would have cost me to but bases and rings separately!

Perfect
If you own a weatherby these are the mounts you want affordable and quality after two hunting seasons and falling out of a tree stand my scope is still sub moa at 300yrds

Beware if you have a Vanguard S2
I bought these from Amazon and spent 3-4 hours trying to figure out how to install them with a Meopta Scope. The problem was the rear mount hung over the back of the receiver by 1/4 of an inch. Reversing the rings would not allow a correct positioning of the scope. The bolt handle would operate but the clearance was so tight you could not put a piece of paper between the mount and the bolt collar. I was afraid that when the bolt heated up with the 257 WM cartridge it would make contact with the scope mount. I called Talley Manufacturing and the guy that answered the phone said Weatherby had changed the location of the rear drilled holes on the Series 2 from the S1. He said the part I had #940734 would work if I did not mind the overhang. I disagree with that. He further stated Talley had redesigned the rear mount to eliminate the overhang but kept the same part number #940734. He agreed to sell me a new rear mount and give me full credit if I returned the old one. Keep this in mind and call Talley if you find yourself in this situation. On a positive note I have used these Talley Mounts for years without a problem and they are excellent at holding zero. It also sounds like their Customer Service is very good as well.Update March 19, 2014Talley sent me the wrong rear ring again. I called them back and they sent me the correct one. If you have a Vanguard Series 2 be sure your rear mount is marked "3M" on the bottom. The latest one fit like a dream and it works fine now with no overhang on the receiver. Note the mounts are identical in size, only the holes are drilled in different places on the mount.

This is good for weatherby vanguard s2 and watch out for…
This Tally scope rings are good for weatherby vanguard s2 when it says they are for vanguard. What you need to watch out for are products by other brands. Howa made those weatherby vanguard s2 barrel and they have same rail mounting holes but the height difference between muzzle side and stock side are different. Apparently some brands are selling what works with Howa1500(maybe Rem 700?) as they would work with vanguard s2. True if you are just to mount rail/scope rings but you’ll need +60moa angle or what not. Tally is aware of the difference and they won’t sell what’s not right. Great rings for Weatherby Vanguard S2

***Beware of action length!!!***
I wish I could write this without giving the item a rating. I know these work well for their application but I can't personally vouch for this because I wasn't able to use them.I ordered these rings/mounts as I just purchased a Vanguard S2 and when you look up what to use for scopes these are pretty much THE hot ticket for the rifle.Unfortunately, I bought these for a rifle chambered in 7mm rem mag and this is my first experience with long-actions. Up until now I didn't realize that long actions have a longer distance between scope mounts (makes immediate sense but when I purchased these I didn't know any better and there was no mention of action length in the product description). I am returning these and getting a mount that is the appropriate length for my action. I hope this gets bumped up high enough in the reviews to where others can see it and save themselves the headache and disappointment should they be ignorant on the subject like I was haha

These are the rings to have for a Weatherby Vanguard S2
These one piece bases/rings are lightweight, work well, and have a nice finish. As far as I can tell these are the same design as the one piece bases/rings that are sold on Weatherby's site.I tried two scopes with these mounts on my Weatherby Vanguard S2 youth model (#1 contour barrel with 12.5" LOP). Both scopes had 30mm tubes, one with a 24mm objective and one with a 42mm objective. Both scopes cleared the barrel without issue when using the "Low" one piece mounts.I deducted one star for two reasons:1. Talley should have an "Extra Low" 30mm option. If a 42mm objective scope can clear the barrel then are the mounts really low? Lowering the scope would actually increase the clearance between the bolt handle and scope eye piece, which would be beneficial.2. Talley should recess the screw holes on the rear mount (the thicker mount). There are two different length screws included in the package. It's pretty easy to figure out which screws go with which mounts (longer screws in the thicker mounts), but if you accidentally used the shorter screws in the longer mount you would strip the screw when you torque it down. Talley could make these mounts completely dummy-proof by recessing the holes in the rear base to a depth where all four screws would need to be the same length.

Not worth it
Firearm never shot straight with these rings, ended up taking them to a local shop and the owner laughed. It's very hard to get everything tightened down without twisting the scope. Do yourself a favour and buy rings with the plastic bushings in them.
