Very basic downlights
If you have a home that has had recessed lighting installed in the past few decades, that means you probably have a can inserted into your ceiling with a 6 inch to 10 inch space where a socket exists at the top in the center. For years people just simply installed a fun light bulb into this type of fixture and many people just accepted that air from the room was just vented upward through these cans. In northern regions, during the winter heated rooms had their heated air sent to the crawlspace or attic through recessed lighting.Stepping forward, many folks now want to replace these old energy consuming bulbs with energy sipping LED bulbs. For some time LED flood light bulbs were available to purchase, but a new innovation has come to market which is this one which is a flat surface panel with springs on the inside to hold it in place and a wire long enough to reach the socket which has a standard bulb twist screw connector at the end of the wire to connect to the standing socket inside. This allows you to have a flush sealed ceiling with an LED spotlight connected to it with minimal fuss and installation as long as you can reach everything easily do not hide takes under 3 minutes a fixture, and once you do a few you can probably do them in less than a minute each.Unlike some other brands these are not baffles and the filter does show hence of a bright single large Eli D cluster in the center.I don't love the color rendering of these so much for a living room type of space, but if you're looking to retrofit a bunch of them in a playroom or basement, I recommend this set wholeheartedly.

Easy to install and remodel old canned lights!
I replaced old canned lights and trim all throughout my home with these lights. Don’t forget to caulk around them in order to seal the light and prevent drafts and bug entry.

OK replacement for can lights
I don't know if it's just my cans but had to do some work to get these lights to fit into my can lights. I only changed out 4 lights to these and each one had the same problem; the socket was too far up in the can for the bulb to screw in. I lowered the can in the ceiling as low as I could and just barely made the connection. Once in, they do look nice and are much better than seeing the bulb in the ceiling.

Great for retrofitting on the cheap
Got 4 of these for the price of a single flushmount kit. Updated the look of our hallway for a quarter the cost. Only suggestion is disregard the instructions about pulling the length adapter all the way out, screwing in, then pushing it up to ceiling. Most ceiling cans are screwed in on one side and will just bend/flex as you try to push up leaving a small gap. Better way is to adjust it so the end threads barely start to catch then let the act of screwing it in 'stretch' it to length.

It Works!
I had an LED light in my kitchen die and needed a replacement. I found one on Amazon and ordered two (2) - a replacement and a spare for future use. They work OK and fit the receptacle. I was surprised that they arrived in two SEPARATE packages, however. One in a box with a whole 3 "air pillows" as protection, the second (on the right in the photo) arrived as you see it in the shelf-display box. Why didn't they get put into a single box? Well, the one on the right works so....I guess I'm OK with it. Just not the way I expected it to arrive.
