Beautiful book. Great resource
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a book that would be a good resource to add to our homeschool library. I had kids in two different grades that were about to have projects due about trees, so I bought this book and another field guide book. This one would be a little bit too large to take out on a walk with you I would say. If you're looking for a field guide this is not a very compact size, however it is a great book to use at home if you want to learn more information about trees. It has a ribbon bookmark and beautiful pictures throughout. There are several pictures per page including the bark and flowers and leaves. There is ample information about each species, and I know this will help my kids in learning about different types of trees and their native ranges and completing their reports. THE CON: The only thing I do not like about this book is the fact there is a flap inside the front and back covers; it almost looks like a dust cover flap but it is just part of the book because it is a soft cover book. I feel like that could potentially get ripped. I wish the cover had just been made without it and I might just cut it off to keep my kids from tearing it up through general use. Overall this is a beautiful book that I think will be a great resource and I would definitely recommend it

Want to get to know a tree?
This book takes a unique approach, helping you and the trees to become more like friends. Don't be surprised to find yourself giving a tree or two a hug goodbye after your next trip to the woodlands or parks. The book is one I highly recommend. I do wish that there was some way of including photos of the complete tree, but that is not the fault of the books editors...it just is not possible. Grandeur is difficult to photograph. If you like trees, you will very much enjoy this book.

A wonderful collection of trees , makes me want to learn more
I recently read the story “overstory” which inspired me to learn more about trees and purchase this book. I truly feel like the author was inspired by this book which was an amazing feeling while reading it. This book has started a new passion for trees and my fruit tree collection. I then went and purchase more of their resource guides. I highly recommend!

Generally, o.k.
I live in the country and have acres of woods surrounding me. I was looking to identify trees by their leaves. Being from the Audubon Society, I expected more. The trees are not alphabetized and it is difficult to find the one you are looking for. The pictures are not distinct for all of the trees. Some leaves are hard to identify. "What Tree is That?" from the Arbor Day Foundation, is much easier to use.

Beautiful book
My daughter and I love reference books on plants and birds, and we like real books we can hold and enjoy. This is a great addition to our library. I purchased a second one for a neighbor’s precocious 11 year old who has great interest in conservation and forestry, and she loves it. Highly recommend.
