Yes it is Worth the Money!
I saw this Fjallraven Anorak No. 8 in a Youtube video and was impressed with its overall design. After doing some background research on the company, and watching several other videos of various people using it I decided to purchase one even though it was more expensive than I would usually pay. I'm so glad that I did. It is just right for how I am using it.First of all the medium size fit me very well, with enough room to have a base layer and mid-layer underneath when needed. I am 5' 9" and weigh a muscular 145 lbs. Within the first few hours of wearing it I was already impressed with how comfortable it was to wear while trekking or working around the camp. The material is very quiet and sturdy without being heavy. It is only one layer, so in very cold environments you will need base and a mid-layer.By itself I imagine I can use it for 3 seasons here in southern California. With a base layer and mid-layer it should keep me warm in our winters here or even when I am up in Mammoth. As a windbreaker it can't be beat. With the collar up it is plenty warm with just a long sleeve t-shirt in cold mornings and evenings when I am trekking or working around the camp. I also enjoy it for night-time walks along the beach when the winds are whipping in from the Pacific. The fabric should hold up well for years. If I get too warm I can either unbutton the high neck collar or open the side zippers (they open easily, great quality). I can also access inside pockets in my mid-layer or trousers through the side zippers. There are two huge pockets on the front of the anorak. The hood has a wire in it which allows you to shape the hood anyway you like it.You can cinch it up around the waist and at the bottom hem. Plus their is a strap you can run through your legs to keep it from moving up your torso. The sleeves have two position snaps. This allows you to wear your gloves over the sleeves or up the sleeve. Speaking of sleeves, they are nice and long and because of the cut of the anorak they do not ride up when I am climbing or chopping wood.I will update this review after a few more months of use. I imagine I will be able to use this anorak even through most of the summer for evening trekking or in the higher mountains. My next purchase is going to be a pair of the Fjallraven pants with the reinforced seat and knees.

Current evaluation
Sweet jacket. Worn it for about a month now. Bought it as a coat to end all coats. Good against the wind. You gotta wax it or you'll get kinda wet. Nice deep kangaroo pocket. So far so good. Fits like a medium. I'm 5'8" ish at 134lbs. You should wear something thick underneath it any way if you wanna stay warm like a hoodie. Quality outside wear!

Quality Clothing for Outdoor Wear and Comfort
As with all of the Fjallraven products I own, this too is well made, durable and comfortable to wear in extreme outdoor weather. Fjallraven is my goto provider for virtually all of my outdoor wear, pants, jackets, & coats.

Tight in the shoulders
This is a nice anorak that I wanted to work out. However, at 6’3” 180 lbs with a 40” chest, 36” waist and fairly broad shoulders, it was almost impossible to get my arms into the sleeve holes on a Medium, which are too close together, in my opinion. There’s plenty of room in the torso on a Medium but the shoulder width is too narrow. Wearing a layer (I used a sweatshirt) under the anorak makes putting the anorak on and taking it off very problematic. The anorak is basically a water-resistant shell, with no insulation. So wearing layers is essential for cold weather use. The anorak is Fjallraven-rugged and looks good. But it doesn’t work for me. Also, zipping the side zippers can be problematic if you have any hand or arm mobility issues.

Extremely high quality - but very large - genuine Fjallraven anorak.
Item was exactly as described on the Fjallraven website and arrived promptly. This is a very high quality, unlined outdoor jacket designed for all-season use over base and mid-layers in conjunction with Fjallraven's Greenland Wax (sold separately.) I loved the jacket and would like to have kept it had it not been way too big for me. I normally wear medium or large men's clothing so, after reading that these anoraks are oversized, ordered the small. Even with another coat on underneath for winter layering, it was enormous. I have since tried the XS which is a little too tight in the chest to wear thicker layers under, yet almost as long as the S, leading me to abandon the men's Fjallraven Anorak 8 and buy a women's sz medium, which is considerably shorter and lacks the extended back but has more drawstrings for cinching etc & has all the other details including an inside pocket, reinforcements on the shoulders, upper back, front & sleeves, zipped sides, leg strap etc. I don't think many people on the high street will notice the difference. If you're over 5'10" the men's jacket will probably work great, but for shorter people like me the women's is probably going to fit better unless you want to wear it really long with a belt. All that aside, I can't fault the functional design or the environmental credentials of this jacket - it's made with organic cotton & recycled polyester + the two-tone colour (tarmac + dark olive) looks really good. I was disappointed that the women's jacket I ended up getting only came in dark olive or beige.

think twice about the size
lovely smock arriving quickly - i've not a bad word to say about it. Other than it was too hot to wear long indoors whilst was trying it on. I've regretfully had to send it back and can't verify its water/winterproofness. looks and feels tough, possibly a little stiff when new (in need of "breaking-in")However having chosen a small as i understood these smock/anoraks to be capacious it would appear that i am at least an extra small, if not an xxs, time and re-ordering will tell (there maybe an update or two). A small is much too big for someone of 1.74m and 62kg chest of 0.92m/36" unless you are after a tent. I might have to wear all of my winter coats at once to make this beast fit - probably not the best look for a British winter or if one wants to walk anywhere.
