Not your usual billionaire romance trope
Brynne is a part-time student who works at a bookstore to help pay expenses. Fenton is a gorgeous billionaire; his company owns a lot of different businesses. He finds a cell phone that Brynne accidentally left among the bananas at a store. When he sees her photo on the background page he is intrigued and tracks her down so he can meet her. At the beginning Fenton comes across as an arrogant, self-absorbed man who's too used to getting his own way. Neither one of them is looking for a relationship. Brynne was burned by a longtime ex-boyfriend who cheated on her. She is also consumed with anxiety about her older brother who was kidnapped and is being held hostage by terrorists in a foreign country. Fenton is a loner who works constantly, doesn't believe in love and only indulges in short-term hookups. The chemistry and attraction between the two is fierce and their personalities complement each other. The reader begins to see that beneath the tough businessman exterior, Fenton can be romantic, tender, supportive and downright swoon-worthy. Brynne begins to find a balance and calm in her life that was lacking. With Fenton she gradually begins to feel she can trust again. There is a mystery revolving around the kidnapped brother that comes to a head. I won't say more, so as to not give any spoilers. Suffice it to say that I quickly became invested in this story and found it impossible to put it down until I finished it.

Fenton & Brynne - great story
Fenton finds a cell phone in the bananas at the market. When he sees the lock screen photo, he know he wants to find the owner himself. Brynne agrees (somewhat reluctantly) to a date with him as his reward.Brynne's brother Brady (nice alliteration) is a doctor. He was working in Zimbabwe on something like a humanitarian mission when he was kidnapped by terrorists. All Brynne's family is concerned with is how to get him home safely. But since he was working for a private company, it's a little complicated and the US Government has been less than helpful in getting him released.Brynne isn't supposed to fall in love with Fenton - he's supposed to be her rebound from the breakup with her last boyfriend (who happens to have been her brother's best friend, but he's also a slimeball). Fenton has told Brynne that he doesn't even believe in love.Brynne finds out what Fenton's been wanting to tell her, information he's been withholding because he was afraid of losing her.Compelling love story - some parts will have you on the edge of your seat. And the heat & chemistry with Brynne & Fenton is excellent. It was written unusually, with Fenton's POV in the first chapter and the epilogue, but all other chapters were from Brynne's POV.

SWOONING
This I my very favorite book by A.L. So far. I am in Love! The caring, the drama, the friendship; they all make it a book you can’t put down. I want sure I liked Fent at first but came to love him in the end.

Wherever It Leads
Brynne's been having a tough time lately. Her last boyfriend turned out to be a total douchebag leaving her no choice but to walk away. She's also dealing with some serious family stuff at the moment. When she leaves her phone behind at the grocery store, she never would've guessed the guy who found it would be incredibly good looking. Maybe her luck is about to change.Fenton is a hard working man who manages many different companies. He's a busy man and stressing out about a situation within his job. Brynne just might be the distraction he needs. But what if there's something Fenton isn't telling Brynne? Emotions are high, truths are revealed and hearts are broken. Will they be able to bounce back after the shocking revelation?I've seen some people who have already read this say they have a girl crush on Brynne and I totally see why. I just adored her. The way she challenged Fent was awesome. She's tough and played with him as much as he played with her. He'd tell her no and she's do it anyway. That's my kinda girl! She's close with her family and an all around great person.Fenton is so sincere and sweet and at the same time takes charge. He's confident and sexy and just pure perfection. He knows what he wants and he goes after it. He's straight to the point and I like that. He's so sexy. I fell for him hard! And can I just add that Brynne's best friend Presley was just the coolest best friend in the history of best friends. I mean I had a serious girl crush on her as well. I absolutely loved her. She's a trust fund baby so I thought she was going to be snotty & have that "I'm too good for you" attitude but she was so down to earth. She's funny and she's loyal.Adriana is one of those authors that I can automatically one click because she never disappoints. She puts her all into her books and you can tell by her writing. I will also say that this book is a lot sexier than anything else I've read from her. You go girl;) So yea this is another 5 star read for me.Keep writing Adriana! Don't ever stop because it's authors like you that keep me interested in reading!

Before you go
This was my first standalone by Adriana that I’ve read and I loved it. I’d highly recommend before you go. I really enjoyed Brynne and Fenton’s story. I loved Fentons character and both Brynne and Fentons sense of humour.I loved Presley and Brynne’s relationship and would love to read a follow up book for Presley. What a wonderful best friend.

This is Adriana Locke we're talking about so I knew I could expect an amazing book, but this surpassed everything I had imagined
You know that feeling you get when a story is so much more than you expected? When the characters are more than you expected? That giddy excitement...that's exactly how I felt while reading Wherever It Leads. This is Adriana Locke we're talking about so I knew I could expect an amazing book, but this surpassed everything I had imagined. The growth in her writing was evident on every page. That's saying something since her book Sacrifice, was one of my favourite reads of 2015.“The easiest thing I've ever done in my life is feel this way about you, rudo.”Fenton Abbott and Brynne Calloway meet each other in the most unexpected way. Listen closely ladies, if I have one wish for you it's this; if you ever lose your phone, I hope you do so in the produce section of a grocery store and your very own Fenton finds it. From the first time he sees her he knows there is something special about her. When Fenton decides he wants something, he's not the type of man to stop until he gets it, and he wants Brynne. The problem is that Brynne is guarded and with good reason. She is a very strong woman but she doesn't feel that way. With a cheating douchebag for an ex and a brother who is missing, her life hasn't been easy as of late. She can't help but feel like the whole world is working against her. Her confidence has been shaken. She doesn't know how to trust a successful, charming and sexy-as-sin man who can't take no for an answer. After one date, Fenton asks Brynne to go away with him. Just a steamy rendevouz for a girl on the rebound and the man who doesn't believe in love. Except both of them find a little more than they bargained for in each other.“He's so intentional with everything he does. And when he looks up at me, I feel the same intent. He doesn't just glance at you, he sees you. You know it. You feel it. It's impossible not to acknowledge it.”I think Brynne was just as surprised as I was at how much more was under the surface when it came to Fenton. While he is sexy and charming and oozes confidence, there was so much depth to his character. He owns multiple companies yet he has managed to keep himself from forming deep personal relationships. You can see traces of the feelings of loneliness in him and it gives him a vulnerability I wasn't expecting but truly appreciated. Not only is he kind and compassionate, he is determined and driven. It's impossible not to fall in love with him.'Maybe I was just afraid to believe in it, that I wouldn't be able to sort out real love from the shallow motives I've seen a hundred times. Maybe I was scared I'd never be loved for me and not just for my money or who I am. I was afraid I'd never be able to tell the difference.”Adriana has a special talent for writing dialogue with witty banter and hilarious one-liners. Her bromances were unforgettable in her previous books. It's one of the many reasons I love her writing. This book has that in spades but the surprise was that most of those instances came from Brynne and her best friend Presley. They are completely opposite yet they compliment each other so well. They have the kind of friendship that, as women, we can only hope to find in our lives. They lift each other up with love and humour and above all else they always support each other. Both woman have become my favourite female characters she has ever written.“If you get there and he's an oddball call me and I'll send someone to get you. It's not a big deal,” Presley notes.“He's not an oddball.”“He doesn't have that quiet serial killer look in his eyes when you're alone?'“No,” I snort. “He has that 'hypnotizing sex machine' look.”Wherever It Leads balances Adriana's typical style of writing with angst, humour, and swoon-worthy moments but it had an added element of suspense that I wasn't expecting. The plot and pace were well executed which is something I always look for in a book like this. This is also, by far, the hottest book that she has ever written. If you're looking for characters with depth, read this book. If you're looking for a story that will grab you're attention and hold it, read this book. If you want to get lost in a story and feel an array of emotions, read this book. My point is, if you're looking for a great romance...just read this book!!

Adriana has smashed it out the park once again!!! Stop what you're doing and read this book!
What an amazing book. Was so excited to read another Adriana Locke creation but also a little nervous as Sacrifice was always gonna be such a hard book to follow. There was nothing to worry about though as this book was brilliant. However it is a completely different book altogether and is superbly written. The characters are so unique and complex but compliment each other fantastically. Especially the relationship between Brynne and Presley. There's serious parts to this book, tender moments, comical outbursts that make you chuckle out loud and steamy sex scenes to keep you on your toes. The characters are fab and I love them all but in very different ways:Fenton because he is just steaming hot and a total alpha male but also very vulnerable when you scratch the surface. Thinks he doesn't need love but oh how wrong he is.Brynne because she is a total sweetie with a little badass trying to get out. I love how she assumes she is in control of Fent and her feelings but we all know she isn't.Presley because she is the bestie we should all have... And also because I think we all secretly want to be a bit like her.. Totally uncensored and doesn't give a rats arse what she says. But you know she is a totally loyal bff to lean on.Cracking book Adriana... Totally loved it being in a lead female POV. Another one smashed out of the park!! 👏

More than swoony!
I didn’t expect this book to be more that a fun whirlwind romance. Midway I had a feeling about the plot twist to come. However, I wasn’t completely sure how it played out. Fenton and Brynne were fantastic together. Really loved their interactions and palpably chemistry. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Enjoyable Read!
Brynne and Fenton’s story was everything I love in a book. It had banter, lol moments, a best friend, angst, sadness, love and hot sex. I would have liked the story to include what happened to Brynne’s ex, Grant and I hope there is another book about Brynne’s brother, Brady and her bestie, Presley.
