CANIDAEPure Dry Puppy Food with Wholesome Grains, Real Salmon & Oatmeal, 4 lbs.

My puppy has a sensitive tummy. Have tried several brands. Some were good for his tummy but he didn't like them. Others he liked but were causing diahrrea. I am transitioning him to this one and his stools are firming up. Also, my puppy is high energy but not a big eater, and he's picky, so it's hard to keep the weight on. I'm happy this one has more kilocals per cup. So, far this food is working out well. My bag didn't come with crumbs, but I bought a 4 lb bag to test the product.

My girl loves this and has grown so fast

My puppy who suddenly stopped eating his old kibbles would eat this kibble. I bought another brand for him but he wouldn’t eat them. This was the third brand I bought and he would finally eat them.

Its a great dog food, but my vet said," unless your dog has allergies there are other dog foods that are less expensive that are good also". I think Canidae is a good food but its tooooo expensive. The biggest bag is a 25lb bag for $60.00 unless you buy it on line. I have a dog whose father weighed 186lb. I can not afford to pay that much on 25lbs of dog food. Im going to try another natural that is less expensive.

My 8 month old dachshund puppy was having gland issues. We tried glandex first and then we tried this food which was a protein source food change. I had to cut back on the amount of food that he eats because this has more kcal per cup and was causing him to gain weight. I was talking to my vet's office and took him in to be seen. The vet said he looks wonderful and he had a great exam. We are staying away from chicken as the first main ingredients in food and treats for him. His stools are now firmer and switching to this food should help with his gland issues. We will find out, when he goes back on Wednesday for a recheck.

Always good for my puppy

I ordered this for my new malti-poo puppy. The puppy did come to us as a rescue at 6 months old, and she has some issues. She had runny, bloody stools almost as soon as we got her. We took her to the vet and found out she had an intestinal parasite and had to get on meds. The vet told us to check the expiration date on the food since it has a probiotic in it. If expired, this could be adding to or causing the parasite. It appeared to be expired. However, it was not. Once I emailed Canidae, they told me where to look for the correct expiration date and it was good. We began the 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% method for switching her to the Pure Foundations puppy food and are happy to say, she's doing well and finally gaining weight. Another vet told us that her parasite was probably activated partly due to the stress of her situation, and she may have gotten it from one of the adult dogs she was with before us. This food, as well as the Life Stages we will be switching her to, is amazing. My dogs are healthy and happy on it.

My dog isn't taking to it as well as I'd hoped but her stomach issues have cleared up so that is a plus. The size of the bits is good, the smell is good, and there is no dust or mold. The ingredients is much better than the other dog foods on the market and the price is comparable.
