beast of a fan for the size and price.
this is a well built breast of a fan.I have this installed in a bedroom window for herb smoke exhaust. it's wired on a variable fan speed controller, with a smart plug for timer/smart control.you really need to be mechanically inclined for this install, preferably a professional of some sort.note the seal around the shutters isn't air tight, but you could easily take it apart and add self adhesive weather stripping from the inside as I did.also be careful with the shutter assembly it is very thin metal and can be damaged easily. as well as test if the shutters operate easily durring the install when tightening the flange screws. I had to loosen and adjust it because the shutter frame was pinched.but definitely super happy with the product.

Runs Good
I installed this into an existing passive garage vent in the hope that it will keep the temperature down in my garage in the hot afternoon. I didn't need the vent flaps and as many said they seem to impede the airflow I took them off. There was already a mesh and fixed exterior vent louvers . Note the vent fan body is not aluminum (fan blade and flaps are) and it would probably rust easily so I painted it. It runs quiet. Now I have to see if it makes much difference. I may add a thermostat control if it is worth running to keep the temperature down.

Quieter than Expected, Moves a Lot
I tore this fan apart from its louver system so I could use it as a replacement fan inside my kitchen exhaust fan system. It moves a ton of air and is way quieter than I anticipated. I thought for sure it would be loud, but it's nice -- not silent, but reasonable considering how much air it moves. Very happy!

Good air movement
I’m using this as an exhaust fan for a twenty foot container filled with motorcycles. The fumes can build up. Right now I turn it on for about five minutes a day and it clears it out very well. Eventually I’ll put a timer on it.As others have mentioned, the junction box is small, but there was enough room to easily make the connections. Also, the punch out hole was too small, I had to file it to fit the cord holder in.The unit seems well made and sturdy for the price.

My husband installed quickly and didn’t need any help. Very quiet and good price.

Louvers not opening and closing
The fan doesn't blow the louvers open. I have to go outside and open them. Then go back outside to close them when I shut the fan off. When I move the louver by hand they seem to be rubbing on the hinges. Good fan. Bad louvers.
