This is not a good tool for working with 2x4's. If you look at the pic, which I now realize I hadn't looked closely, the tool hangs lower than the depth of the side of a 2x4. If you're marking a board that's lying on a flat surface, which would be highly likely, this tool would not lay flat on the wood to be marked. It's much smaller than I thought, too. It also doesn't mark a 4x4 post all the way across. So, it's too small in one sense, and not big enough in another. Ideally, it should be the size of a 2x4 to be an effective tool.

I bought this set when I lost one of my Shinwa’s of the same type. I found this knock-off to work reasonably well, but that the side on these are not perfectly perpendicular — slightly more than 90 degrees. Still works pretty well. I use this set when accuracy isn’t critical… rough cuts.

The package is good but the product is great. Works exactly how it says. Makes your line to cut perfect no matter the wood or metal. Strong metal material and clear numbers. Great buy.

I like the versatility, you can mark 45° left and right in the same position. You can also do 90° and 45°.I used it the same day I received it.

Way too small.

only got half my purchase. i contacted the company without any satisfaction.
