REED Scraps - 2 Pound Leather from Garment Cutting Mostly Black Color, 2 lb.

After reading some reviews, I thought I may be taking a chance at this scrap purchase... Nonetheless I bought a 5 lb bag of scraps-color/little black.I am DELIGHTED at what came in. Large swatches, long strips, gorgeous colors, and quality leather! Ive been trying to attach a picture but it just won't work. I'm sorry.I recommend this company!WORTH every penny!!

Exactly what I needed! Good quality too. Unlike some other reviewers, I can read and know what the term "scraps" means.

I think for what you pay for this, you are getting a bargain. And in my photos, I show some of the larger pieces with a tape measure. Obviously, you are not going to get big 1' x 1' pieces that are perfect at this price. However, if you're creative, you can find a million things to do with these. In my other photo, I show how I made a dragon egg purse for a Game of Thrones themed Halloween costume I am making. The pieces are not large enough to make adult shoes out of one piece, of course, but you can finish all sorts of projects with them, such as baby mocs, hairbands, repairing watch bands, costumes, wallets, etc. The possibilities are endless. I shopped around on eBay first and there was nothing else at this price of comparable quality or quantity.PS: weight i got was just over 2lbs, see last pic

I’m torn on how to rate these. The leather seems mostly nice quality. The main project I bought them for is to make baby moccs and for soles of baby shoes for my 1 year old. I can definitely get at least a few pairs of soles out of this lot. Probably not enough decent sized pieces to get a full pair of one color. If you are using for small detail pieces on stuffed animals, bags, etc then this would be a decent lot for you . It is definitely what it claims to be. It says “scrap” and it truly is scrap....multiple pieces that are practically unusable but the price was low at $12.99. I ordered another lot from a different seller so we will see what that comes in like. Picture with my hand shows a black piece which is the largest piece in the lot.

I was under the impression that the pieces would be of usable size. 1/4 of what I received was very tiny. Some under 1" of square leather. Not sure what that would be useful for. While seeing the difference of larger to smaller pieces I found I didn't even get the whole 2 pounds. Not but much but with so much not usable I was disappointed. The Larger pieces are of nice quality some very smooth and shiny and some dull. I good mix of choices.

I was a little wary seeing all the mixed reviews - the positive vs negative ones were about 50-50. Because of the good price, I decided to go ahead and give it a try, and I'm glad I did. I must have been one of the lucky ones - I ended up with a nice variety of scrap sizes; ranging from small/skinny to decent size chunks. I'm really happy it included the exact color I needed with the right thickness!All pieces are fairly thin, though some are thicker than others; some stretchier than others, and they also range in degrees of toughness. All the leather is soft & pliable (not for tooling).I'm going to have a lot left over, but that'll work great for projects in the future.

Originally I purchased these leather craps thinking this would give me a nice assortment of pieces to experiment with. I was not looking for any large pieces or any specific sizes, just something to work with.I received my package with perfect timing. I was super stoked because I read such great reviews on the product. However, I was deeply saddened upon opening my very well packaged goods. I received maybe 5 usable pieces and the rest are unusable fine shreds of leather. I am certain every box contains something different so there may be a lucky few who did not receive mostly shreds.I have included a photo of my product holding a piece that is the size of the majority within the assortment.The distributor contacted me regarding my product before I submitted a review and they had no concerns in the world, their reasoning is that who wouldn't want a box full of unusable tiny pieces of scrap?! Then proceeded to let me know I can buy MORE of their products.Granted they do have great prices for whole pieces. However for me to return the product for $8 is not worth it.This was their response:"Dear Amanda,Thanks for your email and pictures.We understand that different leather projects have spec requirements. These scraps are great! I never used leather before and when I open the box, I immediately see possibilities! I made a pair of shoes for my 12 months old right away without even made a dent to the leather pile. I took a picture of the two largest black pieces, and two shades of brown ones I got. If you love crafts and want something makes you smile, buy this! If you have nothing to do with crafts like my husband but love the smell of leather, buy this! With what I have left I think if I am lucky I can make a pair of boots for my three year old daughter. Then maybe also 5 bracelets, 10 necklace, and 20 bows and flowers for hair bow. Not too bad for a little over $10.4/9 I just finished sewing a second pair of shoes using these scraps. The weight of the leather is just perfect for this purpose. Light enough so I can manage to sew multiple layers with my normal sewing machine and a leather needle. And heavy enough to maintain the body of the shoe. Next I am probably going to make something using the light brown scrap which a lot thicker.

I really enjoyed sorting the scraps. There were many sizes and types. Thick. Thin. Various blacks and browns. A red here and there. I'd buy again.

Came with enough for my projects and some pieces were pretty big! I am totally happy with this purchase 💯
