This is a well made, robustly constructed set of tools for fireside use. There is minimal self assembly required, which just involves attaching the base and top to the stand (an incredibly simple job that takes seconds) and then hooking the four tools onto the integrated hooks. The finished piece looks really good and is definitely made to last.All tools are heavyweight and up to the task at hand. I did wonder whether the length of the handles may get in the way of cleaning out the grate of a wood burning stove, but it just meant I didn’t need to stoop so low. Similarly, using the log tool for placement and moving pieces in the fire meant I could be a distance away and avoid uncomfortable closeness to the roaring flames. The shovel is a great size for collecting the ash and the brush ensures there is minimal dust left behind.This is a great set of tools that is made to last and covers all wood burning stove requirements. A good gift for anyone with an open fire or wood burner and, although it comes flat packed, there really isn’t much assembly to be done.

The bulk of the stand and tools feel solid and perform well.The brush head and bristles however are plastic and feel cheap.I'm using a different brush for day to day cleaning as a result.The grabber, poker and shovel are excellent however.

This was taller than I expected but it’s extremely robust. It works really well, although the two handed tongs took some getting used to. The best fire companion set I’ve ever had. Utilitarian, sturdy and simply elegant.

We have had a different fireplace set for many years, but had handles had screw in decor and would often loosen. I wanted a solid single piece tool that wouldn’t move around and was easy to use and looked good. While you can spend upwards of $300 for a set like this, this set is a great value, looks rustic on hearth and is extremely functional. Great value. While they are a couple inches shorter than I would’ve liked, they are pretty standard length when compared with the other sets we looked at.
