2013 Kentucky Derby 139 Mint Julep Glass

I got one from each year I was away at school for my mom since she collects Derby items. They're cute and dishwasher safe and easy to hold with small hands.However, they break super easily. I took this glass out of the dishwasher still warm and it shattered in my hand. The glass isn't super sharp but still.I also had one crack on the inner glass layers. Luckily it didn't leak or shatter yet before I noticed.The problem could be that we use these as daily glasses, and they're probably not made to withstand that. They're probably just the type of glasses you use for an event once or twice and then that's it. Then again, it's not that expensive so it's not a big deal (or surprise) that they break easily.

I had a Derby Day dinner party with all the appropriate foods from Louisville and that included Mint Juleps of course. I bought these since I only have 5 silver julep cups and more guests than that. They became a party favor after being refilled a few times!!Shipment was fast and well packed.

I am a Kentucky girl, but moved to FL several years ago. I am continuing the tradition of my father and collecting Derby glasses. Obviously I can't get one in the local market. It was more expensive than buying it in KY, but was packaged well and arrived promptly.

Mint Julep is a great drink and if you're into the Kentucky Derby these glasses can be a prefect way to have you Mint Julep. I think they are reasonably priced and can make a great gift or collectible.

I lived in KY for 5 years and got hooked on collecting the yearly julep glasses. live in PA now. still like to keep the collection going. great packaging. pretty glasses this year.

I used these for a gift for the best hat award. They are great. Packaged perfectly. I am going to try to buy older ones from them.
