It is about time. Who knew that by just replacing the common sand in an hourglass with Magnet Hourglass you could defy the laws of space, time, and physics and make it appear to flow in reverse? But that's exactly what happens with this Awaglass timer. Given their lack of accuracy, and audible alarms, the hourglass doesn't get used much outside of quaint kitchen settings. But as a desk toy, this lovely hand-blown Awaglass makes for a mesmerizing distraction to your tasks at hand. And every time it blooms, you're about 1 minute closer to the work day being over. A Poem for this Magnet Hourglass: When flowers smile in the spring, we appreciate its beauty, nostalgia aroma, very few people think that its seeds in the coming autumn what will be. Life is like a flower, once blooming gorgeous is lucky; once beautiful bright is happiness.

Conversation starter, science experiment.
This is one of the best things ever. Everyone should have one, unless you have small children or pets as it is probably fragile.

It's a nifty little desk toy , sand only lasts for about 35 seconds, wish it would of went at least somewhat longer than that.

This is a very nice "thing" that can sit right on my desk
Without asking questions, i'll just say a bit of backstory. (I'm 14) Every time I go to my orthodontist (I have braces) I would get about 6 coins. I eventually saved up 50 to recieve an amazon gift card. (they have a little card shop including movie tickets, jamba juice cards, etc.) The card I got was $10. Right as I got home I went on my recently built computer to buy this.PRODUCT REVIEW: This is a very nice "thing" that can sit right on my desk, and entertains me as I do my homework. The piece comes with the glass with it's iron filllings inside and a wooden stand with a magnet. Every time I use it, there is no powder left in the wrong bulb, so I could say it is advertised perfectly. The wooden base didn't fit any other colors, so I stained it to an orange natural wood color.CONS: 1. it is physically impossible for it to differ without a secondary force. (It is the same every time and gets boring) 2. the magnet in the base could be a lot stronger resulting in more uniqueness, but it is $6. 3. the glass gets SOOO foggy after use and accumulated masses amounts of dust.As a summary, I can just say that if you get a $10 amazon card from your orthodontist, I would...... I don't know...Choose for yourself.
