My 3 year old niece loves this!
My 3 year old niece loves these assorted fruits and vegetable set. It goes perfectly with the toy kitchen she has. She is constantly wanting to prepare her fruits and vegetables. She loves the cutting aspect and just has so much fun with it. It has actually encouraged her to want to eat more fruits and vegetables in real life. She always says "just let my toys" every time she is served fruit and vegetables. It has really helped with motor skills and allows her to use her imaginative and engage in creative play. She loves the bright colors and actually remains entertained for a very long time. It is very durable, she has dropped it many times and it has never scratched or had paint chip off. The only thing that can make me nervous is that her younger sister could put these into her mouth when they are cut in half, so when she is present play has to be monitored to avoid any chocking hazards or dangers. On the bright side, the 3 year old has been able to teach the younger 18 month year old the names of the fruit and vegetables. They can both easily identify the colors and names of each fruit and vegetable. Therefore, this toy helps the children use imagination, engage in creative play and role-playing, while also having educational benefits of shapes, colors, and names of fruit and veggies!

Great for imaginitive play
We have had this set for a couple months and it has been worth every penny. it provides so much entertainment and imaginative play. My son and daughter use this almost every day. They enjoy cutting up the fruit and veggies to make various "dishes". great quality and works well with their other wooden sets. As with a lot of wooden toys they are not huge pieces, but for small hands they are perfect. Would absolutely purchase again.

Adorable set
This set is really adorable. The quality of the wood and the paint is really nice, just like I would expect from Plan Toys...One issue I have, though, is the velcro. One of the vegetables, the carrot, hardly sticks now (my daughter just got the set for Xmas), it actually keeps separating on its own. The rest sticks fine for now. Also, this is a minor issue, 2 of the pieces don't split, the banana and the mushroom, my daughter keeps trying to cut it, they could make those 2 split in half as well. I wonder why they included 2 pieces that don't cut in half. But those 2 pieces can still be used in pretend play of cooking, mixing, shopping, serving, and eating.Overall my daughter (who is 2 and 1/2) really likes it and has played with it quite a bit since she opened it, she loves cutting the pieces in half and pretend to eat them, put them in a pot etc... I love the quality of the wood and the set does really look adorable. We love Plan Toys overall, they always hold up very well, much better than other brands that use wood like Melissa&Doug, and they are also non-toxic. Some people mention the fruits and veggies are tiny but that doesn't bother me at all, they are not big but I think they are a perfect size for little hands.Update: I called Plan Toys about the carrot not sticking together and they sent me a new one, great customer service! The new one is better but still doesn't stick together too well, I came to realize that because the carrot is so thin the surface area of the velcro is pretty small to hold 2 pieces well. My daughter has played with this set a lot since Christmas (over a month) and so far the velcro on all the other pieces is working well. It is one of my daughter's favorite toys right now, it is getting a lot of play. I do recommend this toy!Update, a year later: My daughter is now 3.5 years old and still plays with this set. She now mostly uses it in pretend play more than cutting it in half, she cooks with it in her kitchen, and serves us different pieces on a plate. All pieces still look great.

love these toys
I insist on Plan brand toys for my kids because of the quality and I don't worry about the toxic chemicals that are found on painted plastic toys. These are made of solid wood and colored with natural dyes. I bought these to go with the kitchen we have for my 2 year old twins. The package does state 3 and up, and there are pieces that I have not given them yet because they are a little small (the lemon and the cucumber). Most of the pieces are just fine for them. They love the tray and "cutting" the food. I also bought another set for my friend's little girl.

Great Pretend-Play Food!
I love the Plan Toys line of pretend play food products because they are eco-friendly, made of wood, and non-toxic. Excellent quality, well-made with smooth surfaces, and don't feel heavy. I bought this set to go along with Plan Toys' meat set, and breakfast set. Just the right size for little hands. My 2 year old son LOVES them! He no mouths things but because of the choking hazard I make sure he's not left unattended when he plays with this. We enjoy cutting it all up and piecing them together correctly, as well as practicing counting and color skills along the way.

**** Update five years later**** Really nice version of a play food cutting set
This is a really nice set and the tray is a nice bonus. Like most Plan Toys products, this is really nice quality with smooth finished edges and good quality paint. My son loves it. My sister has the M&D version and this is much nicer.**** My sister gifted these to my oldest son when he turned 2. He is now almost 8. All the pieces remain in perfect condition, no paint chipped, velcro still works, and many years off play with my two older kids. My third child is now two and they are like new.

Schneiden lernen
