Palmero felt secure and was free to do his work at 50'. There was little hindrance in movement. With only one weeks worth of use it appears to work well. Hopefully it will withstand summer's 120 degree heat. Nylon strap needs to be constantly checked for wear.

Clip hole not drilled center so not sure what the strength actually is since it is aluminum. Looks nice and small in the ad picture of the hand, misleading, more bulking than and has some weight to it.

Product failed.The bolt heads sheer off. Not a good thing when it is a lifesaving device.Bought two. One was in service when I was told of a possible recall. Inspected the one in use and the one on the shelf. Both had sheared bolts.Called the Mfr, who stated they don't usually warranty items bought on Amazon, and didn't have a recall. Said someone would call back. Never heard from anyone.Didn't call Capital Safety though, as it had been some time since ordering, not their fault. Manufacturing defect.DANGEROUS!!!

This self-retracting lifeline works nicely for the arena rigging that I do. It's much easier and safer to use than a twin-leg lanyard-- nothing to trip over. I also don't need to carry lanyard extensions when dropping down to our lower grid. I stay tied in at all times when switching horizontal life lines with a captive 'biner that's attached to the top eye bolt, or with a captive 'biner attached to a sling that's also choked to the top eye bolt. It takes care of itself and stays out of the way, so that I can focus on my work.

It saved my butt today and I am a big guy. I was 30' up and I do my best work when I'm tired. I inspected it for damage after the fall, the shock absorber pulled out about 2". I have been using it for a couple of years now, it retracts even if the strap twists, it has developed a little fuzz from that action but nothing to fret about.

I have purchased several of these. We use them every day. They are a good value.
