Definitely NOT your Grandpa's comics!
Mark Millar is well known to comic and film fans worldwide. To list his works would be senseless and lengthy! I'll keep it short and sweet. Ever wonder what would happen if one of those billionaire crimefighter type were EVIL ? I'll tell what pure unadulterated CHAOS! That's what! Millar has crafted a world much like our own except there's no hero coming to our rescue. Only brave men and women that comprise our law enforcement agencies. Nemesis decides to make one such man his next target and after recruiting a team of criminal savants, he begins a campaign of terror with absolutely no boundaries. His assets and assistants helps him evade capture at every turn . Look the best way to to describe this book is Nemesis is the anti-Batman, Shadow, Doc Savage with endless tricks, attitude and a wicked sense of humor! There's a bunch of nice little twists that elevate this WAY above the typical comic, the art is simply breathtaking and keeps your eyes busy as much as the story does. BUY IT!

Mark Millar - you sly devil.
Mark Millar's Nemesis is a bit of a rollercoaster ride; that is, if the rollercoaster shot you in the chest at pointblank range, tossed your body off the tracks from 200 feet up, then proceeded to kill your whole family, and burn down an orphanage.Although the above statement may seem a bit, well, harsh, the book itself is...fun. It makes you question your morality in its sense of humor. The book follows a rich, bored, clearly insane man in a white Batman-without-the-ears type of custom, who catches a pants-tent by going around murdering police commissioners.Yeah - that's about it, but it is a must read. The art is phenomenal, and the story itself has plenty of unexpected "Oh, Crap!" moments. Plus, come on, it's Mark Millar!

A bit of the old Ultraviolence...
If you're expecting something similar to Kickass, then by no means will Nemesis by Millar and McNiven satisfy your craving. However, even though this book does not really seem to be about anything other than showing readers how brutally and graphically human beings can be dismembered by a super-criminal simply because he is "bored and rich" (his own words) I still found myself very much enjoying the twists and turns it takes before the story's big payoff. There's plenty of action, blood, chills and wonderful art by Steve McNiven, though not on the scale of his Old Man Logan Wolverine story. The writing by Millar is sparse and succinct, in other words nothing special. But like I mentioned before, it's a fun book. SADISTIC fun, but fun nevertheless. The main character in the book, Nemesis, is a supremely capable megalomaniac intent on murdering the best cops in the world in a stylish fashion. Aided by a private financial empire and a host of gadgets and vehicles, Nemesis is Bruce Wayne gone bonkers. So the concept Millar came up with is once again interesting and semi-original, much like his Wanted comic or Superman: Red Son. Even though Nemesis boasts no powers he seems to be capable of near-superhuman feats, much like Batman, and he always takes out his target. Now he's set his sights on Washington Police Chief Blake Morrow, supposedly the best police officer in the world. Madness ensues. Sounds interesting so far? Well, it gets better. There are some negative things about his hardcover, though. For one, it is way too short, collecting only four whole comic issues. Still, no big deal, since it was a four issue miniseries, but it left me wanting more. Much more. The paper stock is good, though. Next, Mark Millar seems to be falling into the trap of simply writing about violence for violence's sake. This is literally a book that showcases blood and destruction with no deeper meaning other than satisfying a reader's lust for blood on the comic book page. But, like I said, I liked it, so I guess I must be as sadistic as most Millar fans out there. Buy it if you're like me, but if you're looking for something with literary and not just entertainment value, give this one a miss.

Uh...wow
Despite his ego, Mark Millar has written some good/great stuff. He has written Wolverine, Spider-Man, Civil War and a few Ultimate titles(don't really care for The Ultimates though). Nemesis, while not a bad read, isn't one of Millar's best works either. The character Nemesis is basically the opposite of Batman or Batman & the Joker mashed together. Nemesis hunts down police chiefs, and has his sights on the Chief of Police in D.C. One of the problems I had with this is that it was too short. I felt that if this story spanned 8 issues instead of 4, the characters would've be more developed. The other thing was some of the violence. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind the blood & the guts(I loved Ennis run on The Punisher MAX series). That being said, some of the violence is TOO over the top. Despite those complaints, Nemesis has some good action, a couple of nice twists, and the art by McNiven is great. IDK about buying this. There are better books by Millar that's worth buying. Maybe borrow this from a friend, library, or somewhere.SN: This is also being made into a movie(along with other works by Millar) by Joe Carnahan.

This was a great read, the super villain trope has been used ...
This was a great read, the super villain trope has been used so often it can make a character one dimensional. That doesn't happen here the villain is engaging and brutal, I couldn't believe they went so far, but it works. Get this book if its just for the ending.

Nemesis is great!
One of my favorites by Mark Millar! What if a billionaire wanted to make a difference? Well he’d use his resources to entertain himself and commit crime, of course.

Dark, immoral ,completely nihilistic and alot of fun
A white suited "supervillain" appears in the US targeting a Big City Police chief.A intellectual game of cat an mouse ensues as they play chess for the lives of the chief's family while trying to bring each other down. Its an interesting well thought out story, that transcends its premise "What if batman was evil?"now we have an answer

Gran titulo
Mark Millar es de mis autores preferidos en el mundo del comic, siempre con ideas que rompen con lo habitual y en este caso no se queda nada atrás. Altamente recomendado.

Very interesting
Nemesis is realy enjoyable, it's a must-have for Millar-fans. His writing, as dark as fun, has never been so free in this comic-book.McNiven's drawings perfectly serve the blood and gore and fantasies of the author.Nevertheless, it's very shot, we lack of time to realy imerge oursevles in this particular atmosphere.
