Helped Make Delicious Swedish Rolls
I have never cooked with Saffron before, so it is difficult for me to compare the Heray Spice Store saffron to others on the market. It comes in a plastic bottle that is in a fun shape, reminding me of a perfume bottle, and it could be reused when you are done with the saffron. The threads are a bright red and have a noticeable aroma as soon as you open the jar. I used this to make St. Lucia Day Saffron Buns (Lussekatter), a Swedish Christmas treat. The saffron turned the dough a bright yellow color, as it is supposed to, and added a unique flavor to what would otherwise be plain white bread. I included photos of the various steps in making the buns to show how the saffron looked along the way. I was very pleased with the resulting taste and would use this saffron again. I love the fair practices that the company uses to support farmers, and I appreciate that the saffron is organically grown and hand picked with no preservatives or additives. The value seems fair compared to other companies who sell saffron threads. I would chose this brand again due to the quality of the product and my satisfaction with the company's practices.

Deep Rich Flavor
I used this saffron mainly for rice dishes and a few desserts, and it made a noticeable difference. Just a few threads added a beautiful golden color and a subtle aroma that you just can’t replicate with cheaper options. The threads themselves are thick and bright, which gave me confidence in the quality. It’s been easy to steep a few strands in warm water or milk before adding them to recipes. A small amount goes a long way, so even though it feels like a splurge, it actually lasts a while. I’m excited to try it in some homemade ice cream next.

Perfect for Enhancing Flavor and Aroma
This Afghan Saffron from EnSaffron is a wonderful addition to my kitchen. The quality of the threads is evident right away, adding a rich color and unique flavor to dishes. I’ve used it mainly for making saffron tea and enhancing rice and seafood recipes, and it really elevates the taste. One of the standout features is its versatility. Whether sprinkling it over ice cream or stirring it into pasta, it adds a subtle yet distinct flavor that’s hard to replicate with other spices. Plus, knowing it's from a family-owned business with years of experience makes me trust its authenticity and quality. While I haven’t noticed any downsides so far, just be mindful that a little goes a long way due to its strong aroma and flavor. Overall, if you’re looking to add a touch of luxury to your cooking, this saffron is definitely worth trying.

Elegant container but subtle flavor
This saffron arrived in an elegant container. The packaging definitely gives me an impression that it is a good quality saffron.I soaked a couple of pinches in wine and tossed it into the risotto. It gave it a bright yellow color I expected, and it looked very delicious and flavorful. However, even though I used a good amount of saffron, the flavor in the risotto was very subtle. You can tell in my picture there was some saffron there, but it wasn't the strong, aromatic flavor I was hoping for. I was expecting it to be more aromatic

quality is comparable to iranian saffron
I'll admit it, I was pretty skeptical about this saffron and was expecting the weak, inferior, and thready Spanish saffron in terms of quality. I am happy to report that it is much closer to the high quality Iranian saffron brands that are really difficult to source in the US. The saffron has a beautiful aroma that perfumes the whole room when you open the container. The threads are all the same color, are of a long length and there are zero white/dead threads inside. It grinds up well and has a powerful floral smell that I use both in tea/desserts and savory foods. I do also like that the brand is fair trade and it makes me hopeful that the farmers are treated with dignity and respect. I think my one complaint is that I feel the packaging is sort of bulky and I'm not a fan of the tall plastic bottle. I would rather have tins which most of my other saffron comes in. I feel the tins are more amenable to freezer storage (which is where high quality saffron should be stored to prevent degradation). Nevertheless, I am so pleasantly surprised with how high quality this saffron is. Happy to report that I will buy this again!

Be careful opening!
This review is for, “(1-Gram) EnSaffron, Superior Negin Saffron Threads – 100% Pure, Hand-Harvested Safron. Ethically Sourced, Regenerative Farmed Azafron Spice, Safran for Paella, Risotto, latte, rice, golden milk, and all culinary uses”.BE REALLY CAREFUL OPENING THIS!!! As one would normally do, I opened to top of the box, squeezed my fingers into the narrow opening of the box and took hold of the top of the bottle. The lid immediately popped off and light weight little threads of saffron were lifted up by air pressure. Luckily, I realized the lid came off the moment it happened so I stopped lifting and carefully put the lid back in place. I then opened the bottom of the box and carefully pushed the bottle upward until I could take hold of the bottle from the top of the box. I only lost a few threads. Ok, now that crisis has been averted, let’s move onto the product. There is very little fragrance to this saffron. Perhaps because of the design of the bottle? The bottle is absolutely beautiful, but maybe not so functional. It just doesn’t seem to be very air-tight. Maybe the seller can have the bottle redesigned to have a screw top lid. Also, the seller really should have some sort of safety seal to keep the product fresh and keep the lid from coming off. The flavor is light. It is fine, but this is my first time tasting saffron by itself. I’ve only ever had it in tea blends before.

Nice addition to meals
A little goes a long way with saffron. It's quite a versatile spice and I have tried this in several Indian and Spanish dishes. This has a nice level of potency and the flavor comes through as expected. I'm happy with the item overall.
