Great introduction to Kotlin and also how to build high quality scalable applications
This book is very easy to follow and can take you from building your first "Hello World" app all the way to publishing in the Google store. It is a must for anyone that wants to start in the Android world or has some experience with Android Java applications and is looking to migrate to Kotlin. For the newcomers, it will give you a big head start and introduce you to techniques to write modular code that is normally used in big companies (Chapter 14). It explains complex concepts like Dependency Injection and how to use threads to do background tasks using RxJava and/or Coroutines (Chapter 12).It also explains how to do tests and prepare your app to be test friendly, something that a lot of projects lack and can solve many many headaches (Chapter 9).This is the book I would have liked to have when I started developing in Kotlin.

Great book for those writing their 10th app too
The subtitle suggests that the book is aimed at those starting off their journey of becoming Android developers and the book very much caters for that audience (although some basic Kotlin knowledge will come handy). You will find lots of hands-on exercises with screenshots and code listings with explanations that are easy to follow. So is that what makes this book nearly 800 pages long? Not quite. There are a good few advanced topics, things I wouldn't necessarily expect from a beginner/junior developer to know much about. Unit and UI testing, Test Driven Development (TDD), Dependency Injection (DI), RxJava and Coroutines and Animations mixed with many of the latest Jetpack libraries - WorkManager, Navigation and the Android Architecture Components - a great resource for more experienced folks too.Money and time will be well spent on this book, becoming a strong, mid-level Android developer by the end.

Great book for Android beginners and experts!
Great book for Android beginners and experts! I love the hand-on approach, with easy to follow step-by-step examples, and explanatory images.Although the book is practical and beginners focused, there are several advanced topics: Dependency Injection (with Dagger and Koin), RxJava and Coroutines, even the brand new MotionLayout!

Great Resource to learn Android Development using Kotlin 🔥
This book is perfect for people like me (who know the basics).Everything is explained in concise manner and should make anybody an intermediate developer.I highly recommend it as it uses all the latest libraries including Rxjava, Dagger,Hilt,Kodein, MVVM, ViewModel, Navigation Graph, Glide, etc. The author tried his best to incorporate everything that is stable for production.I’m happy that I found this gem.

Recommended ✨
This book is based on XML and Kotlin language. I studied the Koltin part only because nowadays I do development with Jetpack Compose. Overall the information given in the book is insightful.
