Works as expected
I've used this with several USB ports from internal laptop ports through large Acroname USB hubs. It has worked as expected in most devices with different peripherals. It also works with the apple USB-C dongles tested (e.g. 3.5mm DAC).Some small gripes are port retention (USB A male side could be more snug, again tested in several different ports), and it's a big longer than I'd like.I have not tested power or data throughput. If I use such a device I will update review in future.

A piece of crap
There is an issue (copiyng errors and even Windows 11 BSOD) while copying files between two SSDs connected to a USB3.0 hub that is connected through this adapter to laptop probably means a power draw. This adapter is not suitable for use at all. Avoid it

Okay for Gen1 devices, but tricky with Gen2, and fast charge didn't work.
I’ve tried USB A-to-C adapters from a few brands, and all have been flawed in one or more ways. Sadly, this pair from QCEs also comes up a bit short. Fast charging functionality didn’t work for me, and careful cable selection is required when attaching USB 3.1 Gen2 (10Gbps) devices to this adapter. It works fine with Gen1 (5Gbps) devices, but the same can be said of every USB A-to-C adapter I’ve used. This adapter is advertised as supporting fast charging, and my Galaxy S10 phone is listed as compatible, but the combination didn’t work well. With this adapter connected to any of my QC2.0 power supplies, my phone charges only at regular speed and sometimes displays a "check cable" error unless I reverse the USB-C plug. I’ve successfully used quick charging with other USB A-to-C adapters in this configuration, so I know these adapters are the problem. When it comes to USB 3.1 Gen2 devices, these adapters can support 10Gbps despite not being advertised as such. It’s not all good news, however, because the connection becomes extra-sensitive to cable length and quality when these adapters are in the mix. With any cable longer than 3.3ft (even premium quality), or with a short (1.8ft) but medium-quality cable, my Gen2 devices bogged down with errors without even falling back to a 5Gbps transfer rate. Other adapters have similar cable restrictions, but some do support the 5Gbps fallback that these adapters lack. Also worth mentioning is that both of these adapters arrived with excess plastic material inside their USB-C connectors, so that’s something to check for if your cables don’t fit well. Overall, it’s a three-star rating for these adapters. They’re fine if you don’t need fast charging or Gen2 connectivity over longer cables, but that’s at best par for the course.

Solves on the go charging of usb-c cables.
Now that Apple is changing all their connection cable ports to usb-c and not including a wall charging cube you need these adapters to convert from female usb-c to male usb-a so you can use your existing wall, car, battery back-up and computer usb-a connections to charge your devises. I recently purchase the Apple AirPods only to find the box included a usb-c to usb-c cable with no charging cube. These adapters solved my on the go current charging dilemmas cheaper than buying all new charging cubes. The cost to buy a new charging cube and car charger far exceeded the $7 for these two handy adapters.

Now I can connect USB-C devices on my Laptop that doesn't have a UBS-C port!
I have some older machines that have only standard USB ports that won't accept a modern USB-C connector, this wonderful little device fixes that issue. It has a female USB-C end and a standard 3.1 USB connection so you can use it on just about any machine. Good quality, comes as a pair and works great!Highly recommend if you don't have a USB-C port on your PC or Laptop and want to connect a USB-C device, get this adaptor!

Perfect. They do the job.
So, I guess we’re all making the switch to the USB C connection. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work for 95% of the electronics I own. It certainly doesn’t connect with my not-so-old MacBook, and I’m not about to run out and buy another one until I’m darned good and ready. These help me bridge that gap. I hate that I need them, but I do. I love that you get two, too. Not just handy, they’re necessary. I’m delighted to have found a set. Recommended!
