All flavor, no heat
This is a wonderful chili powder with lots of flavor and no heat. I like it because I can get that flavor I like and control the heat by adding varying amounts of ground red pepper. When I make chili for my 86 year old mom, who thinks even black pepper is too hot, I use just this chili powder and no red pepper. She really enjoys it.I also use this chili powder in enchilada sauce, tofu scramble, taco salads. I sprinkle it on potatoes and steamed veggies now and then.

Do it. Just buy this. Seriously.
This stuff is the bomb. This is not a 'chili mix' with an assortment of soices and added salt, just plain ground chili itself. So, you can use it to make your own sauces and seasonings. I'm never buying a product with premixed chili in it again. This is so much better. And no, it's not particularly hot.. I bet you could use enough to make it so however...just a nice dark chili flavor

Good stuff!
This review is for their "New Mexico Dark Chile Pepper Chili Powder."I just got mine a few days ago, and I LOVE IT. I throw it directly on chicken, hamburgers, etc. (I don't make chili)And you also need to understand the most important factor for USA citizens, this stuff is *not* shipped over from China. It has a very cool aroma, tastes great, and no heat. I'm here to put another one in my cart. It's going on a lot of what I create lately. Good stuff!

YES! FINALLY!!! REAL CHILI PEPPER POWDER! NO SALT OR SPICES!
I have spent years looking for a chili pepper powder that is actually pure ground chili pepper instead of a mix of chili pepper other spices like salt, garlic, etc. This chili powder is exactly what it should be... ground up chili pepper. It goes without saying this is the best chili powder I've ever used. Great flavor, beautiful color, smells wonderful. It has made a huge difference in my recipes that call for chili powder. The point I'm trying to make is THIS IS THE ONLY CHILI POWDER YOU WANT!!!

Chili Flavor without the heat!
I have tried a lot of Chili powders in my attempt to meet my desire for a Texas Style Chili and my wife's desire for a really bold, but as mild as possible chili.FOUND IT!This chili powder is hearty and dark in flavor. The scent is closer to mocha coffee than chili powder. It makes a chili with an earthy, hearty flavor with very little heat. If you are making chili for folks who don't east spices...this is an excellent choice."But you said you wanted a Texas Chili HEAT?"Yes, I did, so here is how I pull that off...Ground Cayenne Pepper Powder 40000 Heat Units by San Antonio, the same company sells a delicious ground Cayenne. When I make Chili I just leave out the Cayenne...halfway through I split the batch in half and kick up the heat by adding this to one batch. San Antonio spices are so flavorful in both mild and hot...GREAT STUFF!

CHILI FANATIC'S DREAM
I'm a hard core chili guy. I used to buy my own chili pods (combination of anchos, NM chiles and guajillos), dry them and powder them. Most store-bought chili powders contain all kinds of crap: oregano, salt, garlic, sometimes sweetener alongside weak chiles. This is just chili powder. And it's delicious. Great combination of dark, earthy flavor and the right amount of kick. Shared with neighbor, who raved about it. So, already bought another pound. If you're grilling, this stuff is magic. Sprinkle it on beef, pork, chicken or fish and prepare to be wowed.

Deep Rich Chili Flavor
I love this stuff and I'm so glad I bought it. I love the richness of chile and I add it to a lot of my cooking, but the problem is that the food can quickly become too spicy - but not with this chile powder because it has all the flavor and none of the heat. That allows me to add in just the right amount of spice without compromising on the flavor. I am so pleased with this and I will buy it again when I run out.

Great robust flavor
Great robust flavor for the price. Note: This is not meant to be spicy hot, that would be cayenne pepper. This is supposed to be like chili (the meat stew...), and has great flavor for that, better than the standard store brands. I put it on everything. Works very well on sauteed vegetables and popcorn.
