OXO Good Grips Heat Resistant Silicone Travel Mat for Curling Irons and Flat Irons - Pink

This Oxo Good Grips hot styling tool mat is a good idea and works well. I didn’t used to think I needed one because my bathroom counter is heat resistant. However, I recently stayed at someone else’s house and did not have a good place to set my hot straightener. This mat would have come in handy; it is heat resistant up to 450 degrees F. In addition to giving you a place to set your hot curling iron/flat iron as you’re using it, you can wrap it around your hot hair tool and pack it in your travel bag without having to wait for it to cool down. The mat is smaller than I thought it would be, about 9 x 6.5”. It does not cover the full length of my straightener, but it more than covers the heating plates. I thought it would cover the handle as well, as the handle gets hot, too, although not nearly as hot as the plates. The closure loop is pretty thin, so I hope it will hold up. I got a kick out of the warning on the back of the packaging: “Always unplug tools before storing.” Yes, that’s always a good idea! Anyway, I like this mat and it will come in handy in my travels.

my dumb self left my straightener on at 350 degrees for 7 hours twice since purchasing this mat and my house didn't even slightly burn down(the mat itself and the shelf below it was only a little warm, too)

I have really enjoyed this mat. I have made it a habit to use it. We have light colored counter tops and now I don't worry about any discoloring from hot hair tools.Even though I love this product I would say it doesn't roll up easily. I have another traveling bag for my flat iron. I will still take it with me for counter tops.I would recommend this mat. I know I will be purchasing more of them for gifts.Nice price and better to save on the cost of replacing counter tops.

Great for travel! Love that I no longer have to wait for my straightener to cool down all the way when we are traveling. Now I can let it cool a little then wrap it up and pack it away, saving me tons of time. Love that it has the slit to keep the cover on the iron. I also like to rest the straightener on it any time I use it to protect our marble countertops. Definitely recommend it!

It's a good size , I love it !

I love this thing. When we travel, I was constantly needing to let my flat iron cool before it could go in my luggage. Now it can still be warm and I can get everything packed without worry. It was really difficult to get the silicone apart the first few times to put my flat iron in. So difficult that the first time that I thought it was glued together. I also use it as a mat on the bathroom counter so I don’t burn the surface.

I wish I had bought one of these sooner. My flat iron does not lock to close. I store it in a bathroom drawer, which means that if it's still hot, it might burn or melt things in the drawer. This solves that problem by providing an insulated cover. It also helps keep the flat iron (or curling iron) on the sink since its texture helps to keep hot tools from sliding off the counter. It's also small enough to travel with in a bag or suitcase.This is one of those things that you don't know you'll need, but you'll wonder why you didn't get one sooner.

We bought these to put under the cats' food and water. Some cats are just messy and this not only captures the food and liquid, it keeps the bowls from moving around. They are so easy to clean, too. I have them under every bowl of water and the messiest cat's food bowls. Rather pricey for the purpose, but so far saving cleaning time and the carpet around the feeding areas! Super easy to clean in the sink or in the dishwasher!Most silicone food mats are way too large for cat bowls and for the spaces where we feed our cats. I think it would be great if the manufacturers of these items would consult on the ideal size for cat food. If they produced them for cats, I am sure I would have purchased these years ago. An ideal size would be a little less than two of these side-by-side; the length is greatGlad to know I can also grab these in a pinch for a trivet or pot holder (after cleaning off the cat's food messes!).

A lot smaller than I’d expected just as mentioned in the other reviews. Saying this however it’s a great product that will definitely come in use especially when travelling as it’s large enough to wrap around any straighteners for safe packing which was the purpose of my purchase!

This is great, I got it so I could take my straighteners away & so glad I did. So easy to wrap them up & to secure, another great product from oxo.

I have the tiniest counter space in my bathroom and always hated having to leave my straightener precariously balanced on it, cord going all over the place, until it cooled down. The odd time traveling I'd be annoyed that you can't pack it right away when it's hot. This thing solved all my problems. My straightener can go right back in the drawer where it came from as soon as I'm done! I bought Oxo instead of some of the cheaper ones out there because you gotta be confident the thing isn't going to melt or burn and I have always been able to trust Oxo stuff in the past. Totally worth it for me.

Use it for my curling iron that doesn't like to stay put and then when i want to bring it with me, there's a perfect little pocket for it to be carried in. Pocket is a little grippy at first.
