ESI Racers Edge MTB Grip

Great feel, the only grips we use.
These are the only grips I use on my bike and my wife's bike. She's only used these for years now - and I was using clamp-on grips because of the ease in installation and removal, but I've since found out how to easily install and remove these. To install - just get some Windex, like the instructions say. I put a glove on my hand to get more grip, then spray the bars and the inside of the grip, and just push it on. If they're new, they'll fight you, but not too hard to get them on there. Once they've been on before, they stretch a little and are easier to reinstall. The only real caveat here is don't try this just before a ride - give it at least overnight for the windex to dry or you might have loose grips.Removal is a piece of cake. I keep a chopstick on hand and push that between the bar and grip, then shoot some water in there, work the chopstick around, and then the grip will pull right off.If you watch the MTB World Cup, you might notice that these grips are hugely popular with the racers, and for a good reason - they work.

Better than foam
Loving these so far. They went on with lots of alcohol with not too much grunting and swearing. I didn't need to use an air compressor, just soak a small square of paper towel dripping wet with rubbing alcohol and keep it right in front of the grip as you twist and push, so that it's floating on a layer of alcohol. One of them got stuck after it was about 75% on, and I poured a bit of alcohol directly into the grip, and it went right on after that.I had KCNC foam grips before these. They would never stay put without tons of super glue... nasty to clean up. These ESI grips aren't going anywhere, and I didn't have to use hairspray or glue. Material feels nice and dense. VS thin rubber grips and thin foam grips, If you push one finger into any of these grips they all feel about the same, but when you grab the ESI grip it feels like it distributes the force better. you can't really squish it enough to feel the bars with your whole hand. They've been very comfortable on a few 2 hour mtb rides with lots of climbing and descending.

Follow install directions from video found online
If you follow directions these are easy to install. Get the install instructions from their website video or YouTube. You would think they would include written directions with the product? Use plenty of alcohol. The color ones show dirt easily. I understand they are easy to clean with alcohol. I’ve yet to try and remove and reinstall them. The last pair I had I just cut off with a razor knife. The black does not show dirt.

Great grips for XC racing
Great grips - comfortable and light, however, definitely more difficult to get onto the bars compared to the chunky or extra chunky versions. If you're a weight weenie or prefer slim grips, these are perfect. If you don't care about 15 grams and not too partial on grip diameter, I would go with the regular chunky for easier installation. If you like fatter grips, I would definitely go extra chunky, and the easiest to install.

Made in USA
These grips seem to be excellent quality and are comfortable. I installed them on my son's BMX following the manufacturer's instructions. I applied the alcohol liberally to the handlebar and inside & outside of the grip. They dried quickly and look great on the bike. Lastly they're NOT made in China!

Have grip shifts? Cut these to fit.
I quite like these. I bought these grips to cut them down to fit against my grip shifts on a Specialized Crossroads, as the original grips were no longer available for purchase. The process of cutting and fitting was painless and simple. I've been using these grips for a couple of months now and like the feel when riding. No negatives so far. Recommended.

Easily Modified, kinda thin.
I was looking for some bike grips that I could easily cut down to fit next to my twist shifters. These fit the bill and I was able to easily cut them and slide them on my mountain bike. The are soft and easy to grab onto. They are however, pretty thin. I would have liked them a little more bulky for a better fit on my hands. If you have small hands, they would probably fit great.

Love these grips
Love these grips , I have them on all my mountain bikes and find them exceptionally comfortable for any distance rides . They are still very grippy in the heaviest of rain and wash totally clean no matter how muddy they get . I wouldn't use any other grips now
