The Happy Hapster
Do you like hats? Do you wear hats? The author, Gerald Hawksley, has written a fun book for all children. in this book, the town's people have found all their hats are wearing out. But, in a land not too far away, the Hapoy Hat Land, hats are being made mice for the entire town. What a joyous day that will be when you read this book, you will understand what kinds of hats are being made and who will make them.Adults will enjoy reading this book to their children. Most children enjoy playing dress up, and dress up often involves hats. You can become a different person by wearing a hat. This book is written in rhyme, and it is the best method for reading to children. The illustrations are bright, vivid and colorful, and they depict the adventures of the people making and wearing hats. A fun time for all.Recommended. prisrob 04-26-16

Perfect for pre-school bedtime stories and the rhyming prose is great for early sight readers.
When your baby is 15 and still loves hats of all kinds, this book seriously resonates! The book has been around for a while and I will admit I only picked it up because my kid has a stack of hats on his bedside table that would make Dr. Seuss proud. This is a book that my munchkin would have enjoyed time and time again when he was little. Colorful silly illustrations with fun characters tell the story of the Happy Hatster and his quest to bring hats of all kinds to head bare citizens. Children will simply delight in this tale and demand to share it again and again. Perfect for pre-school bedtime stories and the rhyming prose is great for early sight readers.

A Nice Parody of Christmas Eve, Santa and Christmas Day
Happy Hat Day is basically a parody of Santa, Christmas eve and Christmas day, where Gerald Hawksley has replaced the fat bearded guy and elves, with mice. Happy hat mice make hats to replace everyones old hats which have holes, and are falling apart. The new headwear will be delivered by a yellow mouse riding in a giant upside down hat who is called Happy Hatster. The status of everyone's current hats is explained very well through Dr Seuss style silly rhyming and good quality illustrations. The parody of Christmas Day is also pretty good but there seem to be a few forced rhymes and odd inclusions as something better couldn't be thought of such as the sun wearing a hat. The ending couple of rhymes seem that coming up with ideas to fill these pages was getting a bit harder. Still however overall this is still a nice read, it's not as good as the same author's Don't Juggle Bees! And Other Useless Advice For Silly Children but if it's free or a cheap price give it a go.

A Hat Full of Fun!
I'd say if you're a changed person after reading a book it's successful. I've always liked hats but now I'm thinking of wearing one every day! The rhymes in "Happy Hat Day" aren't forced and tell a simple story of a united community of creatures who love hats, are happy to be alive AND help small animals by throwing their old hats into a tree. What child wouldn't want to visit them? The pictures are bright, simple delights and make me want to live in a big hat too; I've already begun designing the interior of my own hat-house. I write and illustrate children's books and in my book "Bearos" the plot is simple also, although the child is called upon to decide if the bearos are real or simply an excuse (frankly I'm always surprised when adults decide immediately on the 'dog ate my homework theory' because I'm leaning toward bearos being real.) Such A Cute Read
Another adorable read. My five year old really loved this one. It is, again, modeled in a Dr. Seuss rhyming style. We really liked the thing the birds did with the hats.

HATS GALORE
Alas, the hats are old and worn. It's time for the mice who make new hats to magically slip in at night to replace them. Old hats are discarded and new ones of various, shapes, colors and patterns appear. The rhymes are sometimes forced and the story stretches out a bit too far, but the illustrations are cute and colorful. The alliteration makes the read aloud more fun. Recommended for preschoolers.

Happy Hat Day Review
I loved the illustrations in this colorful picture book but the text/story line seemed a little forced to me, and stretched-out. I didn't do a word-count but believe it would have benefitted from a few less words. Also the Happy Hat song could have been better. Great illustrations with beautiful colors.
