We are heavy gardeners and use this tool regularly. they last for years.

I love THIS TOOL! It's an amazing reinvention of a garden trowel. It's larger so it moves more dirt at a time. The "teeth" along the sides will cut tough roots of weeds, etc. Whatever you need to do while digging in dirt--this thing does it easier and better! I have one myself and liked it so well, I bought 5 for Christmas presents!

Best overall tool for raised bed gardening! Planting, harvesting, weeding, this tool does it all! Comfortable to hold. I love this! Have used this tool for many years. Very good investment.

Great garden tool

This is one of my most ABSOLUTELY FAVORITE garden tools ! When you're trying to dig a hole to plant bulbs or plants, this is the perfect tool ! When you're trying to scoop soil into a pot, or trying to create "mounds" for planting rows of flowers, veggies, etc. this is the perfect tool ! I have one at our home to help me with all the planting, removing weeds, etc. And another of these tools at our Greenhouse to help with all the soil work we do there.

This is not much of a scoop, but I bought two of them. To me a scoop is something that will scoop up considerable quantities of whatever, in this case soil. But I can scoop up far more soil using two hands than with this tool. And it isn't very good at breaking up clay or cutting roots either. What it excels at is scraping soil and rock. For example I have areas with several inches of drainage rock on top of soil I need to excavate. This scoop will quickly remove the rock and leave the soil. Other times I need to remove soil at the bottom of my planter boxes, soil which has adhered to the rusted sheet metal used to stop gopher invasions. This will nicely scape the soil away without damaging the sheet metal.The best garden scoops I have found are commonly used as ice scoops. There are several different sizes that work very well, depending on the clearances of the area you are excavating. They are heavy duty, but very reasonably priced. That is why I gave it only 4 stars.

Years ago, my mom gave me one of these because it was her favorite garden tool. At the time I didn't garden much, but it did come in handy. Now, 15 years later, I garden quite a bit and I can see why my mom loved it. I use it daily. The handle on my old one was getting a bit gummy (frankly, I hadn't taken care of it well) so I bought myself a new one. I plan to gift it this little shovel to friends in the years to come.

It does seem rather expensive for its size, but t is used everyday more than any other item I own. Works well, does the job, sturdy, doesn't take up too much room so stores well, does all sorts of garden-related things and best of all, very, very quiet. I used one for decades daily in stony clay soil and must say, it has held up well. I wouldn't mind owning more than one of these! It is my favorite go-to garden tool.
