The alarm itself seems to be working properly and I do like it. It sends an alert to my cell ...
I purchased this alarm system with extra remotes and window sensors. I installed it on Saturday,Instantly I received a a message that the battery needed to be replaced on a window sensor,on Sunday I purchased new batteries and replaced it, received the same message so after 2 more batteries I came to the conclusion that thesensor was defective.Amazon did send me a new window sensor and it seems to be working without the battery replacement message, unfortunately I also receivedthe same message yesterday from an extra remote and I replaced the battery with no resolution, again replacing it with 2 new batteries soapparently this is also defective.I should not have to continuously have to send the defective one back and order a new one, this company appears to have a quality control issue. The alarm itself seems to be working properly and I do like it.It sends an alert to my cell phone and also will email me.Update January 2019I have had the alarm for a little over a year and at first thought it was going to be a bad experience, but now this alarm does everything I want it to do.I called support when I was having trouble and they explained in a nice way what I was doing actually was the problem.I would recommend this product, I am very happy with it.

Sensitivity varies quite a bit, no adjustment
This is a nice add-on for my wireless security system and integrates well. Unfortunately, it often picks up the cat jumping on furniture or climbing on top-of the cupboards. There is no sensitivity adjustment in the sensor or on the associated App. I did what I could making a pet-zone with masking tape on the outside of the sensor but a pet-zone filter or sensitivity adjustment on the unit would be better.

Easy to Setup and Operate
This system was very easy to setup and operate. I added additional door sensors and that process was easy. I already owned an ALC camera so I added it to the app. I would recommend this system to a friend.

It's a decent system but not worth the price and could be better with a few upgrades.
I hate to give this system 3 stars. I really wanted to like the system more. I will explain the ups and downs of this system. For the price of $149 You don't get that much not that much at all. Some people are mislead by this alarm like I was. I will discuss the pros in cons in this review.Pros: 1.) The system connects to internet so if you are like almost everyone in America you don't have a landline, and this system will alert you by sending you a push notification to the app or emailing up to six email accounts. The system will alert you when the alarm was armed, disarmed, when someone opens a door, or motion is detected by the motion detector.2.) the Siren takes batteries 4 double A. Not included. But the siren also works on the AC Plug. So if an intruder removes the cord or unplugs the siren the siren will still flash red lights and makes a loud noise.3.) You can have multiple sirens. I currently have two sirens and both have flashing red lights and makes loud noise. On a plus side the sirens will make different noises each so you can remember where the sirens are coming from.4.) Tech support is just simply amazing. I called with a small problem and someone called me back that day and we talked for over 15 minutes. They really do care about this product.5.) Sometimes you can arm and disarm the system in the app. More about that in the Con section.6.) If you have the Key chain fob handy You can open a window that you have a sensor on with the system disarmed. Then you can press the armed button and the system will arm without the siren going off and without being notified the window is opened. This is a nice feature.7.) You can name each sensor so lets say you get an alert it'll tell you what sensor or sensors are going off.8.) This may be a con for some people but I like this feature, the motion sensors are very sensitive. I have one on my enclosed back porch. I was three feet away from the sensor outside of the house and I got a notification and my alarms went off. This was really nice.9.) you can buy additional sensors for a price and link them up to the unit10.) You can set scenarios For example I have the smart switch on my lamp and I had it for when Living Door opens turn on lamp or when the sirens go off to turn on lamp. When you disarm the system the lamp goes off too, there is a con with the scenario though so it's not perfect.11.) If someone tries tampering with the sensors even in disarmed mode the siren will go off and you'll get notified via Push notification and email.12.) the hub has a little mini siren. It's adorable but at least it has some noise to it in case you have the hub in your bedroom you can hear someone breaking in.Cons sorry I really wanted there to be no cons1.) The scenario of when living room door opens I can't say when living room door closes turn off light. that would be fundamental as I may be leaving my house when I open the door and have no need for the lamp to be on in the daytime.2.) The sirens take batteries which is nice but that leads the consumer to believe that in the event of a power outage the sirens will still go off since the sensors all take batteries. That is not the case. I have unplugged my hub and the sirens did not go off even with the batteries installed.3.) It would be nice to have the hub have an internal battery for when power or internet goes down.4.) If there is no internet or power the hub does not send you a push notification to alert you in the case of internet outage or power5.) The app is very slow and sluggish and takes a while to connect with the ALC Connect hub even when you are home and on wifi.6.) the hub only works with a wired Ethernet connection. In this day and age you would think they could make this wireless.7.) If a door or window sensor is opened but you still want to arm the system you can only do so by using the key chain fob as the app will tell you you need to close everything down.8.) When calling tech support they did not endorse the selling of an additional siren. They don't pre package them for sale yet.All in all since this will not work during a power outage and cheap $1 door and window sensors will still alarm regardless of power I cannot say this is the best system for the money. I was lucky I got my system dirt cheap. I got my two ALC connect Protection kit on e b a y for $155. So I got two for the price of one. I got 4 window sensors 2 motion sensors, 2 hubs (one I am keeping in case it breaks down) 2 key chain fobs with free shipping. If the company gives you 4 window sensors 2 motion sensors, 2 flashing sirens, 2 key chain fobs, I would recommend it at this price. If the company puts an internal battery in the system, they don't have to include the extras.I also have the Piper NV and yes that system has it's faults too, but unlike the ALC you can put batteries in it, and it still acts as an alarm even without power or internet and the sucker is loud. Plus piper will record footage of what is going one even without internet or power and send you the footage to the app once internet and power has been restored. All footage is saved to the cloud so there is no fear of someone breaking the camera or taking out the SD Card you still have them on Camera.I wish everyone who is looking for a home security system the best of luck. If most are like me it had to be from a recent break in, and any system really is worth the price to have peace of mind restored again.Have a great day and happy shopping.
O**!
You will feel more secure in your home with this unit.
I purchased this one, but returned it for the upgraded system and found it to be a great system. It is easy to install (1/2 hour). My brother did the electronics and I mounted the sensors etc. I will probably buy another motion detector since my house is 3,300 sq ft and has a lot of glass. Not sure why they did not offer a fire or smoke sensor unit as those would be big sellers. I think I may purchase another set for my mother's house, she is 88 but we can monitor her house and respond faster than she will. Hah! A squirrell got into the house last summer and went down to the basement and had a real picnic for several days. If I had this set back then, I would have gotten the little sucker out even sooner.
