Fun to build American landmark
The United Nations HQ in New York City is a building complex known the world around. Most recognize the tall, slender Secretary building, as well as the sloped meeting Hall. These two structures are represented well here in this Lego Architecture set, along with some ancillary buildings. The footprint for the set is a little small, but they pack a lot of bricks into the area. For those who are familiar with the Architecture series... yes there a lot of small pieces to put together. Small white tiles, and small trans-medium blue plates make up a good portion of this set. However, the build process was fun, and there are a couple spots with some more advanced techniques - including some welcome SNOT (studs not on top) building.I built and disassembled the set twice, and I'll probably build it one more time before relegating the parts to my bins. This was a fun build and got me back into Lego after a Dark Age!

Love this Building!
The United Nations Building complex when designed and built was considered to be the epitome of modern architecture. Located in New York City, the property’s sits at the crossroads of East 42nd Street and 1st Avenue. The Lego Architecture Series is thus enhanced with this fine replica. The construction of this building was rather easy, though at times one had to look closely at the placement of the bricks. Take caution and do not rush as you must look as to what direction the bricks are placed. I found myself on two occasions, while in haste, placing the bricks north and south when they should have been place east and west. It is a hassle deconstructing and rebuilding. Haste makes waste. Another complication was that about half way through the construction I was missing a piece and had to stop building. As an old pro at this problem, I went onto lego.com and ordered the missing part at no charge. One week later construction started again, and I must say it is a handsome addition to my Architecture Series collection.

Simple but Fun
Bought it for about $46-$47 when it just came out, decent price for the amount of pieces you get. It was pretty easy to put together and I was satisfied with the end product. As with all the other sets in the Lego Architecture series, this set is more for display than for actual play. Overall, if you are a fan of the Lego Architecture series I think this model would be a nice addition to your collection.

What the Flagpole?
Looks great, came with all the pieces, none broken, missing, etc. Couldn't ask for more for what it is. Very easy to piece together. It honestly looks better than the UN Headquarters in real life.If I would change anything, it would be the flagpoles. They are hinged, for some reason, so they rotated up to ~180 degrees. Getting them to all be perfectly straight is a challenge. I'm not sure why Lego didn't make them a perfectly straight, solid piece. It seems to me that these may have been a piece used for another item as something else and have been repurposed as flagpoles.

Addictive!
My 10 year old is addicted to the Lego Architecture series. The box says they're for 12+, but if you've got an industrious kiddo, these are great for challenging them. He's been collecting them for about 2 years now, and when they're built, they are truly works of art.
