Works GREAT !!!!!
Super drain tool. No runs, no drips, no errors. It threaded perfectly into the little oil canister drain outlet. (2010 Highlander 3.5l-w. tow package). No leaks at all. The drain tool's two o-rings and well-machined brass design are a plus. My fingers are weak, so I tightened the hex base into the cannister "slightly" using a 15/16 open-end wrench, to make sure the tool would be snug before releasing the kracken. I then turned the knurled wheel, as this page instructs. Got out over 1/2 quart oil. I drained it straight into a 2-liter coke bottle. No need for the included vinyl tube, but it is thick and would work great if you want a hose to direct the oil flow. When done, I unscrewed the tool, put the canister hatch back on (with new gasket), and did it very gently this time. Only 9 ft-lbs. When I unscrewed the main canister using canister wrench, a little oil came out from top of cannister where it mates with the engine, but a paper towel caught it all. No mess. You will use a 14mm socket for oil drain bolt. (FYI, I installed a Fumoto F-133S. Drains right into a couple of laundry detergent jugs. Yes, it hangs below the oil pan a tad, but odds are, nothing my beautiful wife runs over would ever snap it off). I also used a nifty aftermarket screw-on funnel to pour the 6.4 qts new oil into engine. No miss, no overflow. Saves big bucks, I know it's done right, and I know it got the correct oil this time (5W30 for this 3.5l engine w. tow package).

Does it's job well.
I have a 2019 4 Runner, and this was my first time doing the oil change. I had free changes at the dealership. I watched a few videos to see what was needed to do the job and after seeing the style filter the 4 Runner has I went ahead and purchased this unit. No problems whatever with this item. Next time I will shorten the hose some. I did the service with the truck up on ramps, and I was on the creeper the entire time. Had to unbolt the skid plate to get access to the filter, and the Toyota tech had rounded off one of the bolt heads. Lucky I had a 6 point socket. I can't imagine doing the filter change without this device, it is a time saver and keeps it clean. I think whoever came up with the design on the truck should go back to school!

Neat little gimmick to drain the filter housing.
Overall this is a neat little tool to drain the filter housing. It does so in a slightly cleaner fashion than the plastic drains that come with new filter elements. Overall the machining looks okay and the parts were free of burrs and shavings, though some threads has small nicks which ended to not cause any issue. This tool features a hex shape to be threaded into the filter housing, but I wouldn’t think anyone is actully using a wrench to install this, they’re doing it by hand. With that in mind I found it quite difficult to thread onto the housing, mostly because of the long length of hose and no swivel, and even hard to remove because by that point your hands are oily from the leaks that happen before you’re snugged this down all the way. Improvement suggestions would be to make the hex section out of round bar and put the same knurling pattern on it as used on the drain screw, or groove the hex to give my grip. If none of that, then knock the sharp edges off the hex because they don’t feel get when oily hands are trying to get a grip. Finally, I recommend to others to pass on this gadget and stick to using the plastic drain instead.

Going to help make less mess!
This part I didn't buy a few years ago when I bought the special wrench for the cartridge oil filters on the newer Toyotas. I saw the cheap plastic drains come with every filter so I thought I didn't need it untill I used them. They don't stay in place, I have to hold it there and warm to hot oil runs down my hand. Last time I got tired of it...so I bought this tool and tried it. OMG if you are on the fence about getting it...just get it! It was stupid of me not to. Also get the oil funnels that thread in place of the oil filler cap. Been soo much easier doing oil changes.

NO MORE MESS!
It worked flawlessly. Left on there for 5 mins then let the tube drain into am empty container overnight to clean it out. This is a game changer co.pared to the cheap plastic insert that comes with most filters.

Fatalistically overbuilt!
Finally had a chance to use this tool on a 2024 4Runner. It couldn't have worked better. Not a single drop of oil spilt. The way this tool is built I can't imagine it ever failing under normal use. There is a rubber "O" ring that may need replacing after many years of service, but that's more a maintenance thing.

FINALLY!!!
Great product for those of us with a Toyota/Scion using the oil filter housing. Pressing the plastic drain assembly into the housing to drain the oil out before removing the housing is a pain. This screw-in unit makes that a thing of the past. Long tubing helps to keep the mess to a minimum, but I didn't find it necessary.
