Seen by over 120 million people worldwide, LES MISÉRABLES is undisputedly one of the world’s most popular musicals. Coinciding with its 35th triumphant year in London’s West End, Cameron Mackintosh produced a spectacular sell-out staged concert version at the Gielgud Theatre featuring an all-star cast including Michael Ball, Alfie Boe, Carrie Hope Fletcher, Matt Lucas and John Owen Jones. Now experience the musical phenomenon at home, after it broke box office records and sold out its entire 16 week season. Featuring a cast and orchestra of over 65 and including the songs I Dreamed A Dream, Bring Him Home, One Day More and On My Own this sensational staged concert is not to be missed - an absolute must-see for any fans of musical theatre or live event cinema.

BEWARE! Produced for region 2! The U.S. is region 1!
If you live in the U.S., you CANNOT play this DVD on your DVD player. You can play it on your computer using Cyber Link Power Media Player 14 or another similar application after changing the region. The DVD is in UDF format. I was not aware of these facts before I purchased it; otherwise, I would have waited, but I really love Les Miserables.

Limited play in USA
Received two blu-ray copies for gifts. When I ordered them no warnings that it wouldn’t play in USA- these are “B” discs. I’ve played many dvds on this relatively new player and not had a problem but these are incompatible. I’m not the only one complaining. Now I must return!

OK it's staged but...
I love Les Mis, I saw this at the Barbican when it first opened then years later I was lucky enough to be at the 19th Anniversary and for Christmas the kids bought me this and the 25th celebration DVD.I have been spoiled by seeing it live twice, and seeing the 25th, but I am afraid this performance is lacking and the performers whilst doing their best don't even shadow the 25th performance and cast. Michael Ball is dreadfully weak, especially when serenading with Alfie Boe.So whilst this is entertaining, I would advise buying the 25th Edition much better cast, fantastic orchestra and three performing companies, simply electrifying. This version hardly stirs up feelings let alone tears.

Fabulous
I now have all 4 Les Mis, this is one of the best. Although sound not as good as it should be. However ROB HOUCHEN plays Marius & BRADLEY JADEN playing Enjolras, both brilliant wonderful voices, Bradley who is taking over from MICHAEL BALL as Javert. A must buy.

Ignore the poor reviews
Some reviewers have dismissed this version as "rip off", "poor version" etc., Not so, this superb "Staged Concert" recorded at The Garrick Theatre is a wonderful addition for any fan of Les Miz. Being in a much smaller venue we get closer to the performers and not overwhelmed by the production. I note one review complained about lack of extras and booklet. Extras are normally looked at once then ignored, same with booklets, the quality of the Bluray is superb, as is the entire cast.

Les Mis - Less the info!
Received the dvd this morning. Really looking forward to playing it this evening and I am sure it will be amazing. However, just a whinge about the dvd packaging; no booklet, no cast list, nothing! It may have been a nice gesture to add some information. Still giving it 5 stars though!
