Not bad for a cheap comp
In a world of cheap compilations designed to lure the casual supermarket shopper wheeling past, this joint venture by Sony and Universal is pretty good. It doesn't specify it's an 80s collection but it most certainly is!Most of the prime candidates for an 80s electronic set are to be found here - Human League, Visage, Soft Cell, OMD, Sparks, Ultravox, Heaven 17, etc. And of course the omnipresent Dead or Alive 'You Spin Me Round'. Nothing from New Order or Pet Shop Boys though, suggesting a licensing barrier.Good to see Howard Jones 'What is Love' appear in its 7-inch form as this was inexplicably missing from a recent expanded reissue of the Human's Lib album. We are also treated to some less obvious material such as Corey Hart, Thin Lizzy's Phil Lynott, Iggy Pop and Annabel Lamb. The Phil Lynott track is Yellow Pearl, a fantastic synth-driven instrumental which was used as a theme tune on Top Of The Pops (and later in the chart countdown segments).Donna Summer's pulsating I Feel Love is included in its full-length Patrick Cowley Remix released in 1982, the 15-mins-plus duration standing out like a sore thumb next to 3-minute radio edits. This mix is no longer a rarity on CD and I can't help but feel they could have used a shorter version (either the Mega Edit or the 7" Mix) and then featured one of the other tracks on here in its desirable 12-inch version, such as Maria Vidal 'Body Rock'.The Propaganda track 'Duel' has a glitch in the final fade-out, like a loud click/pop, which is irritating. The CDs are easy to extract as they are not completely enveloped in cardboard. Worth getting to stick in the car's glove compartment - despite that annoying glitch.

Good if you like the 80s,but some of the remasters don’t cut it for me.

Nice compilation of synth-pop hits
This is a nice compilation of synth-pop hits, clearly only stuff from Sony's catalogue, hence the omissions of some classic tracks, but still an all-round compilation worth a purchase.Highlight track: 'I'm Not Scared' by Eighth Wonder.

Unusually, just about all killer
So many of these compilation albums sloshing about but this is one of the best, not that any of us who buy it will not have all of these tracks on other albums somewhere, just nice to have buy something like this and have hardly any tracks to make you reach for the skip button.
