For Electric - Heat is Good
We had bought a propane heater (tall mushroom looking one) but 10 hours per propane tank was a high price to pay - this electric alternative has proven just as warm. Just as warm means I can sit outside with the pups in 47 degree semi-windless weather without feeling freezing. Is it like sitting in a heated house? No, but if you like being outside in the mild cold but have a nearby heat source this is a perfectly adequate electric option.Only complaint is I wish it could go even lower (probably would be a safety issue though.)

Easy to assemble, heat output decent, nicely priced to others I have compared.
We use it outdoor on our diverged patio. It doesn't put out aton off heat to warm a large shade but perfect above a few chairs or loveseat and cats down a nice warning effect. I love it just wish I could lower it a few more inches.

Great!
Works great! Exactly as described! Wind does effect the heat!

Easy to put together under 5 minutes.
Puts out good heat bar can be raised, stands approximately 6 high to 4 feet lowest. My dog loves it.

Nice heater for adding to another stronger outdoor heater
We are using this to supplement a 48,000 BTU propane firepit. It is on our screen porch. In that space it does add to the overall warmth. This would likely not offer enough heat on its own unless you live in a very mild climate.

works as advertised.
Wish it were easier to make it a bit shorter, which can be done by removing one section of the stand. . Puts out a decent amount of heat for any one sitting directly under it. . . Not bad for an electric option

Extremely poor heat output outdoors, waste of money
This heat lamp is a joke. I don’t know if mine is defective or this lamp just has very poor heat output. It is currently on my back porch, out of the wind and under cover, and it doesn’t even melt any of the snow on the ground around it that blew up onto the porch. It’s on the highest heat setting and lowest height setting. If you aren’t standing right next to it, you can’t feel any heat at all. The power cord is only 6 feet long and extends from the top of the lamp which is near 6 feet tall, so the base can’t be more than a couple of feet away from an outlet. Chances are, you’ll need an extension cord. It’s sturdy and stable. Easy to assemble. The heat output is just very ineffective outdoors. I definitely would not recommend. I’ll be returning this ASAP.

Works great!
I use two of these to keep my volunteers warm every Monday night as we distribute food outdoors at my soup kitchen through the winter.

Not so great
Just not very good at adding any significant amount of heat to the area around. Would need at least 4 or 5 of them to make a difference and that wouldn’t work due to the high amount of energy required to run them all at once. I would be warm just running to flip the tripped switch every 3 min. Not my greatest purchase that is for sure!

Not warm enough
We needed it for outside, was not warm at all, just if you were really really close which was scary with kids, seemed very flimsy in the wind. We were not satisfied all

Should not be called a heater
I bought this for a friend so they could get some time outside during all this lockdown stuff. What a complete waste of money. This device should not be called a heater, rather it should be called a light on a stick, or a personal heater at best. You would seriously need at least 4 of these formed in a square shape to warm 2-4 people. Not my best purchase.

Didn't work, missing pieces
Bought it used, but I buy many items from Amazon used and this is the first time I've had a problem.1. Missing a screw to fix the heater to the stand2. The string would not pull the dial to change the setting, so it would not turn on. Finally got it to move and then it turned on....3. Once on, it would not turn off, or change to any other setting.4. Had to dismantle and box it up and drive it over to the post office to return it :(Hopefully others' experience aren't like mine. This item should never have been sent out again. Screws on the heater were rusted and plastic parts were broken.

I like
I do like this unit. Looks great, easy to assemble. Heat seems to be warmer when standing. it does not direct the flow of heat downward very well. I have a partially enclosed patio (condo) but have front facing wind, I wanted to remove the middle pole to have it more at seat height. I obviously screwed the poles to tight initially and was unable to loosen until I took a blow torch to the threads. I would recommend spraying the threads with a WD-40 or rust check prior, and not to tighten to much initially. Over all, I am very happy. I believe you will experience the same type of heat with any of these electric heaters with the same output. I may be pushing my luck for future Canadian nights, but I have no issues with the product
