This replaced the carb on my old wood boss 028 AV. Fired right up and runs great, hope it will do the distance especially with the ethanol in gas nowadays. Happy with it right now since I got a second saw running by buying this carb.5/7/23 Update: Still good, had wondered why the exhaust was rich and saw struggled idling. If you turn the "low/lo" screw clockwise about a turn that will take care of it. Still think it was a good purchase.

40 year old Stihl Chainsaws are hard to find parts for anymore. But this was a great FIX

Bought this kit for rehabbing an older Stihl chainsaw. Could not use the fuel filter for this one as the size of the (new) tubing from the tank to carb was too small to get a positive seal. Used it on another saw (Homelite) instead. Tank vent (was the original reason for buying this kit) had to be modified to work. Spark plug and air filter was an exact replacement. Carburetor was not used. Extra pieces of fuel line are WAY to small diameter to use for anything. All-in-all, i got what I paid for, and was able to get two older saws up and running.

Absolutely nothing, you can’t use something that doesn’t fit, evidently made for something other than Stihl 028 AV super saw. Waste of time and money, tried to return but more of a hassle and would cost me more in gas, & time than it’s worth, can’t print labels off a phone, just want fool with ordering anymore. Guess Prime is out of the question.

Purchased this kit for a Stihl 028 AV Super Wood Boss (1990 era). Carburetor fit perfectly, along with the spark plug. The fuel tank vent was nothing like the OEM, but it does fit and work properly. The fuel pickup tube and fuel filter are not correct. The OEM tube is straight, much shorter, and has a larger hole on the fuel filter end. This new S curve design seemed to be fine at first, because it moved the filter to the lowest point of the tank in both cutting positions, however, the portion outside of the tank is way too long. No matter how I positioned it, the fuel line would kink at the carburetor, or interfere with the throttle rod. I ended up putting the old one back on. Because of the larger hole on the OEM fuel line, the fuel filter did not fit either. I would buy the carburetor again, but I will not waste my money on the whole kit next time.

The old carb was leaking by, flooding out. Bought this carb. Easily tuned and running like a bandit.

Carb was a perfect match but the black rubber fuel line that goes into the tank was quite a bit longer and bigger than the original. I also had to remove the centre mounting nut in centre of the air filter. The difference in parts are likely due to upgrades Stihl made on the 028 over the years. I was able to easily make everything fit and work as it should. Saw starts first pull and runs awesome.I would buy this again.
