The Wires tend to fly out as is stated by all, but this one leaves without contact
The wire is stiff, but far too many wires fly out with just a low to Medium speed. On contact, flat metal surface which was 80 year old piece with wood polish and lacquer on brass. An area of about 5 sq cm. It took 25 mins with hardly any result. Finally, scotch brite worked.
