This is my first blood glucose monitor. I am fit, healthy, and non-diabetic.My first few tests said "Lo" which means my levels were under 20. Checking the documentation, that basically means you should see a doctor ASAP. Feeling fine, I decided this was probably due to an incorrect reading.After some trial and error, I settled on the "4" setting on the pricker thing, and then made sure I squeezed my finger hard and long enough to get a nice fat drop of blood. Now I was getting decent readings.However, intuitively they seemed a little low or high. So I decided I would keep testing, back to back. Same prick (but cleaned off) and a new strip each time. I have been taking 5 readings/strips at a time. Sometimes the variance between the low and high was only 8 points. Other times it was 17, and then one time there was a 55 point difference.I don't think that's Renpho's problem, but it is a problem with all of these devices. The Renpho kit is nice and efficient once you get your routine down. However, I can't believe diabetics have to rely on these things in order to know how much insulin to dose. That seems crazy.

I used this with two.other testers, it was ~15 pts lower. I was disappointed on two parts: 1) no hookup to my phone like the renpho scale I own and 2) no note on top explaining that it seems to be your only chance to set day/time when you put the batteries in. Way too much other info though. I do like the size of the screen, but honestly this will most likely not be my primary meter unless there are upgrades.

I was a bit overwhelmed at the prospect of beginning to measure my blood glucose levels at home. After a stumble out of the gate, related to some confusion with the way the batteries are recognized on the display, I’m happy to say that this home blood glucose meter is easy to use.Be sure to take some time to read through the pamphlet, particularly when it comes to the different symbols the display uses. I was more than a bit confused by some of them - particularly the ‘burger’ icon, which led to a good chuckle. I’d also recommend learning how to adjust settings. You can turn the ‘beep’ sound effect off, for example, and of course you can set the date and time.All in all, I am very happy with this purchase, and would recommend it to those in need, particularly for those who are just now starting to measure blood glucose, like myself.

I made a commitment to myself to change my lifestyle and overall health. Bought the RENPHO portable glucose monitoring kit and am very satisfied with the ease of use and accuracy of the product. My wife and i take our blood glucose using the supplied lancets, strips and testing device typically twice a week in the morning (which is close to fasting). The lancets are very easy to draw the correct sample of blood - just a small prick of the index finder which you barely feel. Once complete, you insert one end of the testing strip into the device and put the blood sample (directly from the finger) into the other end (very very simple). In less than a minute you will get an accurate reading of your blood glucose. My wife and I really like this product and recommended it to family and friends as it is an inexpensive way to monitor your health and make dietary changes if needed.

Great meter with great accuracy...but when I went to order extra test strips and lancets (which I was told to have on hand so I would never run out), I come to find that no RENPHO test strips or lancets exist! To get test strips and lancets you have to buy the entire set again! And when I went to look on the RENPHO website, the blood glucose meter wasn’t even listed on their list of products! I don’t know if they haven’t updated their website or what but that isn’t helpful to those of us who depend on these things. You can’t even search for replacement test strips or lancets off another site from google! After making sure I could get replacement test strips, lancets, etc. for it, I ended up buying a CareTouch meter. Which I actually like better as it’s easier to program the date and time.

I have been pre-diabetic for a long time, but I haven't been able to test my blood sugar for quite awhile because my other (popular brand) machine stopped working.After buying a Renpho scale and loving it, I saw they had a glucose monitor that I could truly afford. So I ordered it immediately.I have to say. I. LOVE. IT. The machine isn't too small, but not too large either. The case is nice and thick to protect it and the strips... I cannot stress this enough... the strips are amazing. They are super thick and easy to handle. They almost don't seem disposable...that is how sturdy they are.In the morning when my arthritis is at its worse, I don't have to struggle getting the strips out.Refill strips are nicely priced as well.I will be telling my diabetic father about this machine!

Nothing special, works as it should, probably accurate, reasonably priced. Wish I knew what that cheeseburger icon was that pops up all the time though?? Lol I threw my directions away.

I have purchased several of these kits this is definitely the best I have ever had the last one I bought it have been raining and the strips got wet or damp took five or six strips just to get my blood checked this company has a fantastic case that it comes in I love the way that it's packaged it's very easy to use I love it I would highly recommend it to anyone it holds the items easily and zips up it's a hard sided case top of the line thank you to the company that made this
