Surprisingly good.
Just received these yesterday, and have only tried one of the five pens, so I can't say much about the quality control or longevity of this Jinhao 248.But the one I tried this morning is surprisingly good for a $2 pen. The F nib, like most Jinhao F nibs, is more like a medium, but it writes reasonably smoothly with a bit of feedback (I filled it with Pilot Iroshizuku Yama-budo, which is a fairly wet ink). The grip is triangular, although not nearly as much as a Lamy Safari. It's more like the grip on a Pilot Kakuno. In fact, this Jinhao 248 looks and feels a lot like an opaque Pilot Kakuno. The cap posts securely, although the pen is long enough that posting isn't necessary even for someone with larger than average hands. The clip, while kind of ugly, is quite functional. Each of the pens includes a converter, which is something that some of the more luxury manufacturers should note.Recommended to anyone looking for functional, dirt-cheap pens.

Mix of fine and extra fine nibs, smooth writers for the price
I was not expecting much of these pens, but like another reviewer I bought them to have for trying new inks. I use them frequently in little mandala doodles and they are surprisingly smooth. I also have a few Bastion fountain pens with Moon Man nibs that look nicer than these but are considerably scratchier. The light colored set I ordered seems to have a mix of fine and extra fine nibs based on the labeling on the nibs themselves, but the actual lines they put down aren't noticeably thinner/thicker. I have a pen with a medium Schmidt nib and some of these seem to put down line of similar width. So if you're really into fine or extra fine and dislike medium, these are probably going to annoy you. But overall, I don't mind using these. They are light and very plastic-y (I prefer metal pens), but they write smooth and are attractive for the cost.

I'm super satisfied with their smoothness and steady ink flow
I work as a web and print designer so I am constantly writing notes and sketching. I realized I was avoiding my fountain pens for this because I couldn't be sure they would work dependably.I bought this 5-pack because I was impressed by the reviews on how well these pens write. I'm super satisfied with their smoothness and steady ink flow on all types of paper. I can write small letters without the ink blotting; or write large sweeping letters without the line breaking up. These things are as dependable as writing with a ballpoint but a lot more fun. I do like the techy design (including the pocket clip) and how light these pens are. They are a little short for my hand but posting the very light cap solves that. Finally, the cost makes them a must-buy. I know there will be one in my drawing tool case as well as being my everyday carry.

very nice
surprisingly good pens, still going strong, i have ended up using these daily. these are like only 30% better than 5below store pens, but that 30% is super nice and worth the extra $2. these pens write better than my $45 Conklin, to conklin's shame. not too bad for big hands like mine. I'm still looking for bigger usable pens. the thing that annoys me it the chunky clip. i think i will paint it with fingernail polish, i do that with my metal framed glasses sometimes. if you do, wash the clip with dish soap really well.

Standard Jinhao
The quality of the barrel seems good, I have never had a problem with that. It is a fair copy of the pilot Kakuno, and feels the same in your hand. The nib is acceptable. This Pen uses the 3.4mm cartridges instead of the common 2.6 international. I give it a mediocre review, just because it is a mediocre pen. Technically I have had no problems with them. A smooth nib makes all the difference, and they are just an acceptable nib.

Wrong size nibs
Wrong size nibs. I ordered 20 pens (4 packages) with FINE nibs. The product description and the packaging said FINE but the fountain pens were stamped EF (EXTRA FINE). The EF nibs are too scratchy for me. I consider the wrong nibs a serious mistake. I am returning the pens. I probably would have rated the pens as excellent had they sent the correct nibs. I have twenty (20) Jinhao X159 with FINE nibs and those pens are excellent.

Wrong nib size, but overall a great pen that surpassed my expectations
I ordered fine nib pens, but when I opened the set all of the pens had EF nibs. I don't really mind, since I like extra-fine nibs, and if an extra-fine size was available I probably would have ordered that anyway. These pens are much closer to a western extra-fine, but they are surprisingly smooth writers. The look is pretty similar to a Pilot Kakuno, but my only problem with the Kakuno is that it doesn't have a clip. These pens have a really high quality metal clip for the price. I heard that you could swap the nibs with Lamy nibs, so I tried it with one of my Safaris and it worked! It definitely took a little more work to get the Jinhao nib on the Lamy, but now my scratchy Safari has been resurrected. I'm taking a star off for the wrong nib size, but I highly recommend this pen for students or fountain pen beginners, especially if you want to use bottled ink without having to pay for a converter.

Great fountain pens
They work perfectly fine for the cost. They are cheap but write smoothly on almost any decent paper. The grip has a three-side support that makes writing easier and more relaxed.
