Broderbund PRINTSHOP 23 (THE)

I really like this software. It's easy to use, easy to install. It has a large variety of projects. Best bang for your buck! It does work with my Windows 10 system.UPDATE ON REVIEW: I installed this no problem, click to make a project and import art of my own, all of a sudden it gives me a (Runtime Error! that the application requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusaul way. And to please contact the application's support team).. So I tried to open a new project and do something different that is built in the program, but I got the error again. So, I went to the very unhelpful Broderbund web site only to find out that they do not offer support for this application anymore. I did a search on the internet for help, found a possible work around solution, but it puts your system at risk of crashing. The problem is the application requires .Net Framework 1.1 to work, but Microsoft doesn't support this as a new operating system. If you try the clean up tool to fix it you are risking your computer. I just bought this computer so I want be trying anything I really don't know would work. I'm disappointed because I have used The Print Shop for years and bought this newer version to go along with my new Windows 10 that some people say works, I read reviews and Q & A's before purchasing. So BEWARE it may not work.

Love this program! I have been using it since the 80's!!! Yes the 80's DOS version! Although Broderbund has dropped certain features from time to time with this program, I believe they listen to their customers & bring back the things customers say they need & want in the Program. In this day & age, that's a big plus in my book! Back in the 90's they dropped the ability to select the placement of the starting label, resulting in the loss of several labels on a sheet, or making it difficult to work around. That simple feature prompted me not to sell their product in my store any longer.Low & behold, I got a call from Broderbund when they noticed I had quit ordering their product. They wanted to know why so I told them. They added that feature back with future versions & I started selling it again.This is an easy program to figure out. There a lots of templates to choose from & you can easily alter the template on the fly to suit your needs. Delete what you don't want and add what you do want.Most importantly, it is EASY to use!!! Cards, banners, signs & labels. It is clear & concise, you easily customize the printout, & save lots of wasted time, paper & ink trying to get the project to print properly! I particularly like the mail merge for labels, or just the ease of printing labels in general. Microsoft word is such a pain in the A__ to figure out. Great if you use it every day, but very time consuming when you don't!!Printshop on the other hand, fits the bill for most of us that want simplicity in our lives. I have sold numerous copies over the years & saved folks countless hours by switching them to Printshop!

Can run under Windows 10.1. Go to Program and Features under Control Panel and uninstall Windows .NET 1.1 framework if it's installed2. Insert DVD and run Setup.exe. Printshop 23 will install Windows .NET 1.1 framework.3. When Printshop 23 starts to install itself you will get an install error. I believe it is a code 1607.4. Abort install and restart PC.5. After PC restarts, run Setup.exe from DVD again.6. Printshop 23 will install and work properly.Major issue when creating monthly calendars. The feature under "Edit" tab, menu item change calendar "Date" does not work properly. Change an existing Jan 2019 calendar from Jan to Feb works as expected. Jan 1st 2019 is Tues and Feb 1st is Fri. Enter events into Feb 1st 2019 calendar, save the calendar as Feb 2019. Then reopen calendar file Feb 2019 the 1st will be a Fri as expected, but the events will be displayed on Tues of the week, ( Tues. was 1st day in Jan 2019 calendar ). To fix problem, use "Edit" change calendar "Date" and set calendar to Feb. 2019 again to move events to Fri 1st in Feb.The only way around this problem is to create each each month's calendar as a new calendar and not use the "Edit" change calendar "Date" feature.Importing Printshop 23 calendar into Printshop 3.5 version causes all images that you have included as part of calendar to become empty boxes on calendar.I detailed this issues because I am IT person asked to install Printshop 23 and 3.5 and teach a staff person how to create monthly calendars.
