Great fitting workout socks, even in the cold and wet!
Got these socks the day before a 2.5 hour the 2017 F3 Polar Bear. The event is 2.5 hours of running, obstacles, and boot camp style workout with team running to locations to do exercises for points. And it was 25F outside, and we jumped in a lake and did squats at the end for extra points.Warmth: even at 25F-30F, feet never felt cold at all. Until the 55F lake of course.Fit: Good fit, size Large for my size 10 was perfect. Good snug fit, no sliding, no chaffing, no blisters. Will be my "go to" sock for workouts.I like that they are Made in the USA!I put the "Ankle Compression" to the test. I think the ankle band is plenty tight by design to keep debris out of your sock and keep it from sliding down. It was no match for the gritty lake bottom as I did end up with some sand/grit in both socks after the Polar Plunge. I don't blame the socks, as the ankle compression seems very ample, but if you're looking to keep the debris out when in water, may need a taller sock. Thicker mud may be no problem.Overall, very satisfied. Best workout sock I currently own, and I've tried lots of UA and Thorlo. Good comms with Malko, owner of Mudgear, to ensure I was satisfied with my new awesome socks.

Perfect all-around performance socks
To be clear, I'm not a trail runner. I bought these socks because I wanted performance socks for working out, hiking and some urban running. I looked all over Amazon and didn't find many socks that actually have multiple sizes. I don't like it when I buy socks that say "fits sizes 8-12" or "fits all sizes", because inevitably the heel ends up around my ankles. These socks fit perfectly. The other thing I liked about these when I read reviews and saw the photos is that they're obviously designed with a focus on technical performance. This is no tube sock! These are comfortable and reliable. They actually contribute to your performance rather than slipping around on your feet or in your shoes. And although I questioned the price at first, I'm once again reminded that you get what you pay for. All my other socks will go into the donation bin and I'll be using these exclusively for my workouts and light hikes.

The ankle cuff is snug yet comfortable, keeping out debris during trail runs and OCR's.
I thought these socks seemed a little pricey at first but after some consideration, made the purchase for the Warrior Dash coming up next week. These socks are everything they claim in the description. The ankle cuff is snug yet comfortable, keeping out debris during my trail runs. These do not hold water like a normal athletic socks and there are no noticeable seams. (Will mud/water performance update after the race). The owner promptly answered a few of my questions via email. As a small business owner myself, I love their passion and dedication to their product and customer satisfaction. This experience convinced me to go ahead and order 3 MudGear race jerseys that my boys and I had been looking at.UPDATE: Just finished running the Warrior Dash with these socks. They were great in the mud and water. The ankle cuff kept mud and debris out, the material did not hold much water, and most of all they were comfortable enough to keep all the mud and small rocks that got into my shoes from irritating my feet. The Jersey's are pretty great too!

Good socks ,just not as good as some others
The completion in the sock industry is fierce. There are many great brands, so a relatively new brand such as Mudgear has a long road to go. That said, I don't have any negative comments about these socks. The are good socks at a lower cost then many of the more popular brands. That is the best selling point about these socks. If you were to ask are they better then " darn tough", "Smart wool", or "Throlo" brand socks, I would have to say no. They are in the category of say socks from 5.11 tactical. All good socks. The bottom line is these are good socks at a decent price. They feel good and fit well.I'm always looking for a brand of socks that can beat Darn tough socks, Mudgear is not that brand, but they are still good socks.

Comfy
I didn't notice my socks for the entire 2 hour mud run, despite being submerged within the first fifteen minutes. Not noticing is as good as it gets. Dried fast. No blisters. Washed out easily.

THE Sock for trails
Heard about these on Trail Runner Nation podcast and decided to give them a try (after a week on my wish list). From reviews I expected Mudgear socks to be good, but these really do live up to the hype. Tried them on in the house when I got them and they were comfortable. Like nice socks. Wore them two days later on a 25 mile trail run and now I’m hooked. No rubbing, bunching, or hot spots. They stayed put, my feet never got hot, and no sign of even the start of a blister. To me, these are worth every penny. Well made, super comfy, and perform great. I’m sold on Mudgear for good.

The socks held up much better than I thought they would
The socks held up much better than I thought they would. The elasticity at the top of the sock keeps them close to your ankle. I didn't get as much dirt and mud in my socks as I did when I wore just a regular sock. They also come up a little higher than my shoe so I didn't get a blister on the back of my ankle. I also didn't have to pull them up constantly during the course of the race. I bought a size small and the size was perfect. I wear a 7.5 shoe so they fit according to the size chart. They're also really soft and grip my foot nicely. I highly recommend these socks whether you're doing a mud run or a regular run. I will definitely be buying them in the other colors in the future.

Great Socks for Spartans and Obstacle racers! Buy with confidence.
To start with I ordered these 3 days before this Saturday's Ashville Spartan Super. They arrived on Friday 30 minutes after we were supposed to leave. So happy we waited. The socks did amazing through a really tough mountain course. I developed a rip on my reebok all terrains and still had very little dirt, mud or silt in my socks. They fit perfectly and are quite comfortable even when not submerged. I have no blisters, rubs or hot spots. My feet usually hurt for a day or two after most races. This is by far the best my feet have ever felt post race. Spartans or Obstacle racers buy with confidence that these socks will hold up to what ever our race designers throw at us. With 6 more races in the next 3 months, I'm very excited to see how these hold up over many races and a tone of abuse.

great buy
I bought these specifically for Spartan OCR's and originally when I first took them out thought they might be too thick but these are the best socks I have ever raced in. They drain pretty quickly after being completely submerged in mud and water, they are high enough to keep out any muck and just super comfortable.

Consigliati

I have these socks and I love them. They are well made
I have these socks and I love them. They are well made, fit well and the compression is just the right amount. I had sprained my ankle bad and wore my mud gear socks as part of my active recovery plan - I feel they made a huge impact in my recovery times, as I was back at it (working out) within two weeks of injury. I wear these while running and have zero foot pain. I also like to wear them just around the house and they are super comfortable as every day socks.
