One of the things that should be list on this unfinished mantel, is that the item is roughly finished. It will need sanding and wood filler to mange multiple small holes/dents in the pine (softer wood). A sand-able wood filler should be provided. For me personally, about 15 defects. If you use a light stain, the small defectives(puttied holes/dents), will be visible. The dark the finish the better. The defectives were not in the pine itself, rather looked to be from a machine or vice during assembly Tiny holes and small triangles? It is very structurally sound and assembled well. I will try and add before and after photos.

Good quality product, great craftsmanship, however there wasn't any hardware or instructions. As I look through the reviews this tends to be an issue. I tried customer service but no answer. I'm gonna try to figure it out.....without the hardware

It didn't come with hardware, but I was credited to purchase. It doesn't make good contact with wall, but it's cute

Easy to install, sturdy and matches the ceiling beams perfectly. Very pleased with this beautiful mantel.

The color is exactly what the picture showed. Not very heavy so it should not be hard to hang above the fireplace. Real wood, with little imperfections that make it perfectly unique!! We are building a house and it looks nice with our hardwood flooring.

I love the color of the wood. Works perfectly with Browns and Grey tones.
