**Update (7/1/16) - Went to use it this morning to make an omelet, and the handle to turn the blades popped right off in my husband's hands, deeming it useless, and that is when he found out it was plastic - I don't know if this will happen to anyone else, I just thought I should let people know...Original Post: For starters, this didn’t have any product packaging, it just arrives in a clear plastic bag. At first glance, I noticed that the mixer parts themselves looked to be of a sturdy material. The handle however, was a different story. The handle seem to have plastic that looked like it would fall apart when you touched it.My husband, who loves to make breakfast, decided to use it the next morning after we got it. Of course, he used it for making scrambled eggs. He had no issues with the beater and it actually did a great job beating the eggs. The blades, never touched each other, as I have seen in other reviews, and nothing was bent or got caught up in itself. The handle impressed me, because I thought with it looking like cheap plastic it would have come apart in my husband’s hands…it didn’t.Sadly, this is my very first egg beater, and I am almost 40. When I got the egg beater in the mail I was so excited. However the handle did not spin. I had to bend the spinners back into shape. The egg beater could have been made of a bit better quality. When I did get the product to work and scrambled me some eggs it did the job. I just had to move the egg beater around the dish to make sure everything was beat equally. It did make my eggs cook at a fluffier texture.I did get this product free to review for my honest opinion.

Having grown up in the 50s and 60s in a households with hand powered kitchen tools I was expecting something with heaver material. It will fill my needs.

Plastic other than the beaters themselves. The black bits have fallen off.

Didn't last very long. But was fun to use while it did!

The beater part is metal the rest plastic, it bends easily.

I intend to return this item. It is described as stainless steel with black plastic handles. However, the round gear mechanism is chrome covered plastic. The beaters are stainless steel, but there is a bracket connecting the beaters at the bottom which prevents the beaters from reaching the bottom of the bowl. Finally, I am right handed and the only way the handle turns forward is if the crank is turned with the left hand. All in all, it looks pretty in the picture but is not what I was looking for in actuality.

This thing is amazing, a very smooth motion and a great ratio of turning:whisking. Enables me to wield control over rate in an application (mixing powders) that the lowest setting on just about anything electric is way too fast for, while simultaneously making much more progress than if I were using an ordinary hand whisk/beater.
